LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA:  ABC has announced the lead for Season 29 of 'The Bachelor,' and fans of 'The Bachelorette' will recognize him—Grant Ellis. A day trader and former pro basketball player, Grant was recently eliminated from Jenn Tran's season of 'The Bachelorette.' However, his quest for love is just beginning.

Grant, 30, describes himself as a "mama's boy" with a deep love for his family, and he has a clear vision of what he wants in a partner. According to an ABC press release, he's seeking someone who values loyalty, humor, and the simple pleasures in life—qualities that are important to him.

During Jenn Tran's season, Grant stood out for his honesty and openness, particularly during a romantic one-on-one date where he shared his desire to start a family. Although he didn’t win Jenn's heart, Grant’s journey continues as the newest Bachelor. He’s excited to dive into a season filled with romance, adventure, and the hope of finding a true connection.

Grant's season is set to air in January 2025, and fans are eager to see if this self-proclaimed mama's boy will find the loyal and loving partner he’s been searching for.

'The Bachelor' Season 29 lead Grant Ellis admits falling in love with Jenn Tran

On 'The Bachelorette' Season 21, Grant Ellis shared his feelings with the other contestants after a date with Jenn Tran. He told them,  "I see somebody that I could have a life with. I’m starting to fall." Grant was expressing that he was developing deep emotions and beginning to fall in love with Jenn.

His heartfelt confession led Jenn to give him a rose at the end of their date. The other contestants, particularly those who didn’t receive roses that night, displayed their disapproval with cold and silent reactions, making it clear they were not pleased with Grant’s open declaration of his feelings.

How was Grant Ellis eliminated from 'The Bachelorette'?

Grant Ellis was eliminated from 'The Bachelorette' during the rose ceremony in Episode 6 of Season 21. Despite his strong connection with Jenn Tran, including a memorable one-on-one date where he shared personal stories about his family, he was sent home when Jenn chose to give roses to the other men.

During the rose ceremony, Grant Ellis was among the contestants who did not receive a rose, leading to his elimination. This decision was especially emotional for Ellis, who had developed deep feelings for Jenn and had expressed his hope of building a future with her.
