'The 100' Season 7 Episode 11 Preview: Bellamy finally returns as we learn how he survived the blast

Waiting for Bellamy to come back was like waiting for the pandemic to end -- growing smaller in hope, but teasing us every week with some new, usually useless developments

When the trailer for the seventh and final season of The CW's 'The 100' was released, the lack of Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley) had fans worried, as they took to social media to ask where Bellamy was. After the first episode aired, which featured Bellamy being dragged away by invisible Disciple soldiers within the first few minutes of the season, it was revealed that actor Bob Morley had requested some time off and that the final season was written while honoring Morley's wishes.

This meant that while we expected Bellamy to be absent for a while, we just had no idea for how long that was. In the ten episodes that have aired, Bellamy appeared just once more when his character comes to Bardo and the Disciples' leader, Anders (Neal McDonough) gets Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos) to calm her brother, who is holding a knife to a Disciple referred to as the Conductor (Jonathan Scarfe). We had earlier theorized that this Conductor would end up playing an important role given that Scarfe is a well-known actor in the sci-fi genre, playing Axel, one of the leads in Syfy's 'Van Helsing'.

So yes, waiting for Bellamy to come back was like waiting for the coronavirus pandemic to end -- growing smaller in hope, but teasing us every week with some new, usually useless developments. When Netflix's 'The Umbrella Academy' released its second season, one of its characters, Diego Hargreeves (David Castañeda) had grown out his hair, prompting many 'The 100' fans to joke that that's where Bellamy Blake went. It turns out that the joke was on us -- when the promo for the eleventh episode of Season 7 of 'The 100', 'Etherea', aired last week, we saw a Bellamy with longer hair and a long beard, looking like he jumped ship from 'Game of Thrones' or even like a shaggier Diego.

Now, the synopsis for this week's episode does not state much. It simply says, "Bellamy is missing somewhere in the universe." The promo for this week's episode shows us a bit more. In the first shot, we see him grabbing a scorpion-like creature and eating it. We then see a bruised Levitt (Jason Diaz) saying, "He's alive," which means either Bill Cadogan (John Pyper-Ferguson) or Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) and Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos) will learn about it soon enough -- depending on whom Levitt is still faithful to. After Echo (Tasya Teles) beat him up leaving him bound, gagged and bloody and Octavia refused to untie him during the events of the previous episode, we don't know whether Levitt will be the same helpful ally anymore.

We also see shots of Bellamy climbing a side of the mountain (which is cool since Morley is a fan of mountain climbing in real life as well) and we hear him saying, "I am not afraid." We also see that the anomaly is atop a mountain peak, so that explains why Bellamy is making the difficult trek. We don't see much else happening, but we can hopefully expect him to make it back to Bardo by the end of the episode.

'The 100' airs on The CW on Wednesday nights at 8/7c. Watch the promo for this week's episode below.
