Why did BTS V unfollow Jennie on IG? Blinks say 'leave her alone' amid fight with ARMY

'And I’m telling everyone now to leave jennie alone because she literally did nothing to anyone,' a Blink fan tweeted

Shortly after launching their personal Instagram accounts, BTS icon Kim Taehyung aka V found himself embroiled in a bitter fight between ARMY and Blinks online. The episode stemmed from V initially following Blackpink's Jennie on Instagram, but unfollowing her account soon afterward. While the K-pop star himself did not clarify the reason behind the unfollowing, fans of BTS and Blackpink were engaged in a raging social media battle over the issue. In fact, a few BTS stans did not hold back on abusing Jennie, blaming her for 'polluting' Taehyung's mind. 

On December 6, BTS members finally did what ARMYs had been wishing for years and did it in the most BTS way possible. It is a well-known fact that BTS members do not use Instagram and interact with fans on sites like Twitter VLive, and WeVerse, the official fan cafe of BTS. But now, things are going to change as the K-pop stars made their Instagram debut with new personal accounts, each of which garnered more than 15 million followers overnight.

While all the members have followed only each other and the BTS Bighit official account, V ended up following Jennie for a brief time before undoing it. Many are speculating it was a blunder on his part as her handle might have appeared as a recommendation. But, a section of Blackpink fans started accusing V of stalking Jennie. In response, ARMY retaliated by attacking Jennie for the same, going to the extent of abusing and shaming her. 

"Recommended by Instagram Is there a way to get rid of this?....It's a scary app," V posted on WeVerse shortly after.

"Kim Taehyung followed Kim Jennie and unfollowed her after. Don’t accused Taehyung as stalker, maybe Jennie was one of her suggestions to follow list and accidentally followed her, that’s also happened to me before when I’m new to Ig," a fan speculated. 

"kim taehyung panicking is hilarious. he followed jennie accidentally and unfollow immediately, then posted on weverse LMAOOO chill taetae," another tweeted. 

However, 'Leave Jennie Alone' started trending soon as Blinks did not quite enjoy ARMY 'dragging' Jennie into the situation without any fault of her own. "One thing that I will never understand is that Jennie getting dragged just because their faves accidentally followed her, like how is that her fault???" a Blackpink fan tweeted. 

A second fan noted, "wont delete —these people are crossing the line jennie did absolutely nothing to be dragged into this leave her alone."

"And i’m telling everyone now to leave jennie alone because she literally did nothing to anyone," a third fan said.

"I really wish y’all would just laugh and scroll. there’s no need to be shady and rude to tae or jennie. like how are y’all so miserable over an accidental follow or just miserable overall on this app," another requested.

Meanwhile, Blinks started to crush the conversation about V-Jennie Instagram debacle by sharing Jennie's latest stunning cover shoot for Dazed Korea. The 25-year-old Blackpink singer is rumored to be secretly dating BigBang's G-Dragon at the moment.
