'Supergirl' riding off into the sunset after six seasons wasn't exactly well-received. Fans were disappointed for multiple reasons as 'Supergirl' Season 6 ended on Tuesday night on The CW. The finale saw Lex Luthor and Nyxly (Peta Sergeant) being defeated after Kara Danvers empowers the people making the duo's powers wan by weakening the All Stone before they're whisked away by the Phantoms from the Phantom Zone.

The second half of the season finale was all about Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) and Kelly Olsen (Azie Tesfai) getting married and Kara's (Melissa Benoist) identity crisis. This though didn't really enthrall fans as a certain segment slammed the writing and the ending. If the Supercorp storyline cut short was one of the key reasons, Kara not getting the perfect superhero ending was the other.

'Supergirl' Season 6 Episode 20 Finale: No Supercorp, fans say it was 'queerbaiting'

"Don't have any expectations and either way you find the way to disappoint me/ Excellent Actors TERRIBLE writers room," read one of the comments. "No hate but like that was a terrible ending and why bring back monel just for him to be on screen for like 5 mins…," seconded another. "It's actually so sad you had to lean on a dream of many lgbtq+ to be represented in a couple as powerful as Supercorp to keep your homophobia inside this series, but thx for this 6-year experience though, I learned not to watch anything from this station again. #Supergirl" one of the fans wrote.

"What a waste you have made of such amazing characters and actresses," a fan remarked. The fans rooting for Kara and Lena's romance were the most upset. "So Dansen, Brainia, J'onn & M'gann are all canon dating. but Kara & Lena are the only one who have still to fight! who wrote it, must have known that Kara wants a partner. and Lena is that for her! so Supercorp Endgame. your problem that you are too scared of them!"

"it was always about queerbait with hope it had nothing to do! but don't worry. Supercorp will be forever known as the biggest ship of Kara on the show! while your storylines will be forgotten. such a mess with your writing. characters & actors saved this last season! @TheCW_PR." a tweet read. "I won't stream, I won't review, unfortunately melissa, katie and some of the cast deserved a better channel, what a bad ending... 6 years of queerbating, 6 years of shipp fandom holding the show, and that's what we got #Supercorp #Supergirl," another fan opined.

"Boo! you playing with the hope by giving hope to fans that there is a chance until the very last second, that's queerbaiting. This show will be remembered not for the hope but for twisting the hope to queerbaiting!" read another tweet.
