Right off the bat, the Supercorp Endgame isn't happening. Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) were the couple fans wanted to see since the start of the series and despite six seasons that heavily hinted that they would be the queer couple the world could have used, it wasn't meant to be. And for those who felt the finale would probably get them together, it didn't.

'Supergirl' hangs up the cape (sort of) with Season 6 and the finale chapter was pretty much a tribute, a celebration of love and friendship. Wine and tears flowed generously as Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) and Kelly Olsen (Azie Tesfai) finally tie the knot after the world is shown to have become a much peaceful place after Kara empowers the people to be their best versions and never give up in the face of adversity. All said, Twitter had some disgruntled fans who felt Lena and Kara as a couple was something they were robbed of.

'Supergirl' Season 5 Episode 17: Lena and Kara feud again, tired fans want Lena to let go of her 'massive ego'

"The worst part of that Supercorp scene was that it was completely romantically-coded except for the word "friend" that they snuck in at the very end. Queerbaiting all the way. I can't even begin to describe how angry I am. #Supergirl" read one of the tweets. This was seconded by another who wrote, "supercorp not being endgame was literally to the detriment of the show like you could Feel them ignoring it. it would’ve been so much more natural if they’d just let it happen #Supergirl."

The final interaction between Kara and Lena ended with the latter telling her that she would need to embrace her true self and the two hug with Kara calling her the "friend" who would always push her to her limits. "how did they manage to say every possible thing except "I love you" to each other #Supergirl #supercorp," asked one of the fans.

"Supercorp didn't happen. The queerbait was excruciating. Gad it's finally over. Disappointed but I already knew they wouldn't have the guts to make it canon. At least there's fanfic to fix thisCanon. #supergirl #Supercorp," one of the comments read. And the opinions continued. "supercorp has officially dethroned swanqueen as the worst queerbait in history congrats #Supergirl" a fan remarked. The disappointment was written all over social media.

"I'm not mad, just disappointed. Like, I went in knowing we wouldn't get supercorp because of course we wouldn't. But besides that, the Dansen wedding vows were A+. Their wedding was beautiful, love that for us," a tweet read.
