Super Junior announces special comeback, OT9 fans say ‘ballad suju will be back’
It has been a while since we saw all of the active members of the iconic boy group Super Junior. They are one of the few second-gen groups that have been continuously active and globally popular since their debut days in 2005. And while we are currently down to nine active members, fans always love their full group comeback. Their last OT9 album release was their 10th studio album ‘The Renaissance’. It topped several charts like Gaon and iTunes and entered Billboard Japan.
Following the ‘The Renaissance’ in March 2021, we got a couple of other releases like their Japanese compilation album, ‘Star’, sub-unit and solo comebacks. ELFs (Super Junior’s fandom) were excited when SM shared that Super Junior would be participating in the label’s ensemble album ‘2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU Express’. However, it did not have member Heechul. While he is one of the busiest K-pop idols as he is constantly booked for variety and reality shows, he has often tried to join Super Junior’s group activities. Fans also accepted their fate as Heechul has not been able to dance to his fullest after his car accident in the 2000s and so has limited participation in the comebacks.

Super Junior announces comeback
Fans were also worried when member Donghae shared that he had gone through surgery and was currently recovering. But it looks like all of the nine active members are participating in their upcoming album release. As a Valentine’s Day gift, Super Junior posted a teaser image of all nine members on their Instagram story with the caption, “Super Junior Special Single Album Coming soon.” The K-pop group is sporting pastel colors while confetti falls around them. Props are covered in a huge sheet with the text “Sadness is nothing,” which has fans wondering if the title song will be a ballad.
'Soft colors, soft bois'

One fan added, “I'm crying while updating heebbl and now I'm crying BECAUSE OF SUJU OT9 SINGLE SOON 😭😭😭😭😭 SOFT COLOURS, SOFT BOIS.” Another ELF commented, “Happiness is as simple as seeing suju OT9 activities.” One fan said, “I can happily live with suju releasing non - dance songs till the end of time especially when that means heechul can participate in the cb without hurting himself. But also after Donghaes surgery and yesungs back problems i really wish they dont exert themselves?”
