'be': Eunhyuk's single drops ahead of Super Junior-D&E's 1st K-pop album, fans elated

Super Junior-D&E are set to release 'Countdown' for their 10th debut anniversary

Super Junior’s hip-hop sub-unit D&E is going all out for their first K-pop album. The fifth sub-unit of the group debuted in 2011 with the hit single ‘Oppa Oppa’. And to date, they have only released EPs and Japanese albums. Well, to mark their 10th debut anniversary which is on December 16, Super Junior - D&E is dropping ‘Countdown’, their first Korean language studio album on November 2. To tease the album for eagerly waiting fans, they are also dropping pre-released solo singles such as Eunhyuk’s ‘be’.

The sub-unit consists of rappers and dancers Donghae and Eunhyuk. Previously, Donghae was in the news for collaborating with NCT’s Jeno and (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon. He released two singles written and made by him. ‘California Love’ features his labelmate Jeno while ‘Blue Moon’ is a duet with the female idol Miyeon. As for Eunhyuk, he has co-written his solo singles ‘be’ and ‘Red Muhly’.

Release date

Eunhyuk’s single ‘be’ will be released on October 20 at 6 pm KST (5 am ET).

The single album consists of the title track ‘be’ and ‘Red Muhly’ as its b-side song. Both of the songs have been written by Eunhyuk. He has experimented with pop for the song ‘be’ as he added synths and a groovy beat. He wanted to portray his childhood dreams honestly. ‘Red Muhly’ on the other hand is said to be a medium-tempo song with heavy synth bass.

Concept

Eunhyuk has released several concept photos to hint at the type of song and music video that ‘be’ will be. He is first seen in a flowing red suit as he strolls by the countryside during a sunset. He also dons white and warm pastel chic outfits for a windswept look.

Music video teaser

The Super Junior star will be releasing a music video for ‘be’. He dropped two music video teasers. He is surrounded by lo-fi synth sounds as he struggles to write a song in the first teaser. It makes use of a retro film camera. In the final teaser, we get a glimpse of the chorus that Eunhyuk sings in a falsetto as he dances to a graceful choreography.
