Is Heechul finally getting married? Super Junior star sets a date
Having debuted in 2005, Super Junior is one of the few older groups that are still popular in their country and in the West. But having worked in the industry for so long, not only are they trendsetters, they follow their own rules and show other artists how to set boundaries with their fans. With the youngest member being 33, most of them have had relationships and unlike obsessive fandoms of other artists, Super Junior probably has the calmest fandom at the moment. This was evident when Heechul went public with his first celebrity girlfriend, TWICE’s Momo.
Due to the fan services where many idols indulge fans’ wishes of pretending to be in relationships with them to fans putting them on pedestals, dating is a taboo topic in K-pop. Fans see it as a betrayal if an idol starts dating or gets married and tend to send hate or even drop them. In fact, many think that Blackpink’s Jennie and EXO’s Kai broke up because of the severe backlash they got while EXO’s Chen and iKON’s Bobby kept their girlfriends a secret due to such toxic fans. However, this is gradually changing with the ways fans are positively responding to dating news nowadays like Red Velvet’s Joy and Crush’s relationship to Heechul’s possible marriage.

Heechul talks about his marriage plans
Heechul has never been shy about his affection for his friends, members and loved ones. He has often done PDA and even laughed off jokes about his relationships made by Super Junior and his TV shows' cast members. And so, whether he was joking about his marriage or not, fans have taken it in stride and are sending him good wishes if it is true.
In mid-2021, fans were heartbroken when Heechul and his then-girlfriend Momo of TWICE split up. But it looks like the Super Junior member may have found someone new to the extent that he is thinking of marriage. In an episode of the variety show ‘My Little Old Boy’, there was a point where the cast members joked about revealing their girlfriends. Heechul added that they could all bring their significant others to the show and have a get-together.
The cast also talked about Heechul and how even though he is close to turning 40, he looks the youngest. The Super Junior star joked that his parents wanted him to ‘graduate’ from his ‘My Little Old Boy’ image by getting married. But what he said next shocked the cast which also included Super Junior’s Siwon. Heechul then shared, “After Covid-19 ends this year, I will invite you all to my wedding at the beginning of next year.” Everyone including Heechul’s mother who was an MC was surprised as she said she had no clue about his plans and wondered if he was joking. He added, “That’s my plan.”
