LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Succession’ has been one of the most extraordinary shows of this generation and features riveting storylines. The first three seasons of the HBO series were the epitome of stupendous storytelling and when the creators announced that the show will end with Season 4, fans knew that they are going to get a lot of mind-boggling sequences in the last set of episodes. However, Episode 3 of the ongoing season shocked fans to the core after they killed off Logan Roy in the most unceremonious way possible.

In the episode, everyone seemed happy because Connor was finally getting married to Willa and they were really happy. However, a devastating call from Tom (Matthew MacFadyen) changed the entire mood. Tom called the Roy siblings and told them that Logan (Brian Cox) is dying and that if they need to tell him something, this would be the best time. Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook), and Roman (Kieran Culkin) behaved in their own ways, letting viewers know that they loved their dad even after what he did to them.

The third episode felt like a masterclass in devastation and acting. As soon as the episode concluded, social media left no stone unturned to let everyone know that this is one of the best episodes in TV’s history. One of the fans wrote, “I…I think we all…just witnessed…one of the greatest episodes of television ever. Phenomenal acting from everyone across the board. The chaos, sadness, confusion & sense of urgency was so authentic, raw & devastating. Wow. Stunned. Bravo.” Another social media user wrote, “Absolutely floored by tonight’s episode of #SuccessionHBO. One of the best episodes of television ever. Incredible they were able to pull off the inner mechanics it took to make it happen in reel time and feel so immediate, raw and intimate. Emmys for all!”

“I know there’s still a whole season left but Ep 3 of #SuccessionHBO delivered what is the best episode of television I’ve seen in 2023 so far. An emotionally crippling hour of heartbreak that is masterfully directed by Mark Mylod. Strong, Snook, Culkin, and Ruck are riveting,” wrote another fan. “Shedding tears for the worst people in the world. An absolute gut punch of devastation. The way #SuccessionHBO handled tonight’s turn of events was a masterclass in so many categories — subversion of expectations, organized chaos in storytelling, awards-worthy across the board,” tweeted another fan. “I never thought that I would be crying for Logan's death but this episode was brutal, it was a lot to take in... The kids were so broken and lost. Magnificent writing and acting, this episode needs to win a bunch of Emmys. This is real TV,” tweeted another social media user.

The episode ended with Hugo, Kendall, Shiv, and Roman meeting the Press to announce Logan’s demise. Shiv tells the press that her father is dead and they leave quickly after. The siblings discover that the stocks of Waystar Royco have taken a sharp dive before Roman checks on his father’s body. The wedding between Connor and Willa does take place, but in front of a much smaller audience.
