Trigger warning: Self-harm and suicidal theories below

The events of 'Succession' Season 3 Episode 8 promises one humdinger of a finale, and by the looks of it, Kendall (Jeremy Strong) might not have survived (literally) after his confrontation with his father. The scene is downright ambiguous and in what happens to be one final encounter with Logan (Brian Cox) where he tells his father to push him out of the company. He's the one finally waving the bullet-riddled white flag, except Logan decides to rub it in as he humiliates him calling him the loser.

The episode ends with the eccentric son lying on an inflatable pool float with his face submerged in the water. It's a lot of conjecture, but it does appear that he's attempted suicide. There has been history though, he's already been involved in drowning episodes prior. In Season 1, he kills a hotel employee and when he confesses to his father, the latter holds it against him rather than help him after cracking the whip. The suicidal tendencies come to light when he stands on the roof of the Waystar building. At first, he stands on the rooftop and what appears to be contemplating, is in fact a suicide attempt.

'Succession' Season 3 Episode 3: Fans say 'it's gonna be bumpy road' for Kendall

With this, it becomes painfully clear that 'Succession' might just have circled off Kendall as one of the characters who's met his end after the beer bottle in his hands slips out and drowns into the pool. We might be wrong, it could just be Kendall trying to put himself in the dead employee's shoes and imagining the traumatic movement. Or, he's just plain gone.

Twitter had their two cents to share as well. "Kendall started the chapter depressed, and the things got worse with the mom's wedding, and even worse with the dinner with Logan, I really dunno if he still live, I'm so afraid. #Succession," read one of the tweets. "The build up to Kendall’s eventual demise is tragically unfolding. His options to leave have narrowed down to just… one exit strategy. #Succession," seconded another.

"The lack of Kendall in the preview for the finale is very concerning like HE HAS TO BE IN S4 THO?? PLS TELL ME IM RIGHY #Succession," one of the comments read. "Given tonight’s episode, if Kendall’s gone, so am I #Succession," another tweet read. "Kendall meeting Logan was a last cry for help. Saw bubbles like he was breathing in the water. Not a good sign. Hate to say it, but they told us at his bday party. #Kendall #SuccessionHBO #Succession," one of the fans opined.
