‘Christmas EveL’: Stray Kids' festive album dominates charts in less than 24 hours
Christmas came early this year and it is "EveL" (evil), all thanks to the fourth-gen boy group Stray Kids. The K-pop group dropped their "Christmas gift" to fans 26 days in advance in the guise of a festive single. But don't expect a bop along the lines of your plain old ‘Jingle Bells.’ Stray Kids’ have delivered a unique concept with upbeat music which is a hit with their fans.
On November 29, Stray Kids released the song as well as the music video for ‘Christmas EveL’ which the group had been teasing for a while. Due to the obvious selling power of the self-producing artists under JYP Entertainment, Stray Kids reportedly topped multiple iTunes charts around the world soon after the release of the song.
The singles album, 'Christmas EveL' from Stray Kids features four songs with 'Christmas EveL' as the lead single and the second title track, 'Winter Falls' accompanied by two other singles, '24 to 25' and the English version of 'Domino,' which was part of their last Korean album, 'NOEASY.'

Stray Kids' 'Christmas EveL' charts after release
The song ‘Christmas EveL’ was released worldwide as a single and it was reported to have entered the iTunes world albums chart at Number 2 immediately after its global release. Not only that, the song also reported to have topped the iTunes albums chart in 26 different regions including Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong and more.
It was also reported that ‘Christmas EveL’ from Stray Kids had sold out a total of 208,947 copies since the time of its announcement and more according to Hanteo Charts. On November 30, a day after the release of the singles album, it was reported that ‘Christmas EveL’ took first place in terms of album sales rankings for the first week of December so far in terms of sales from November 22 to November 28.
The song is doing well in the UK as well because ‘Christmas EveL’ from Stray Kids entered the iTunes European albums chart at Number 2 as well as the Top 10 albums chart on iTunes for the UK at Number 8. Other than that the single album is at Number 4 on iTunes Canada and at Number 3 on iTunes USA’s respective album charts.
'Christmas EveL' is gift to Stays
The single also debuted at Number 4 on the worldwide iTunes songs chart and is currently at Number 1 in 29 countries. The holiday special album from Stray Kids’ was released this year as a gift to their fans, after Stays showed the group immense and enthusiastic support in the year 2021, following the release of their record-breaking second studio album ‘NOEASY’ which was released with the title-track, ‘Thunderous’ which recorded a total of 1.27 million copies sold according to Gaon Chart at the beginning of October 2021 making the group a ‘million-selling artist’.
This year also was particularly special for Stray Kids because the boys took home the winning title for the performance-based variety show from Mnet, ‘Kingdom: Legendary War’ which ended in June of 2021 where they competed against other active boy groups like BTOB, SF9, Ateez, The Boyz and iKon.
