'sMothered' Season 4: Fans call Sunhe 'abusive', bash her for destroying daughter Angelica's life
TLC’s hit reality series ‘sMothered’ Season 4 is back on screen on Tuesday, August 9. While fans were excited about the series, some of them were furious with Sunhe and her daughter Angelica, who made their first appearance in 2019. In the past three seasons, we have seen their rapport growing more intense but with many changes like Sunhe getting over dominating Angelica, trying to impose her superiority on her daughter’s life, and trying to have a say in her daughter’s marriage as well. This is also a known fact that Sunhe manipulated her daughter into breaking her marriage with Jason in the last season.
We are only into the first episode of the show, and it has already shown us all the extent that Sunhe can go to protect her daughter Angelica. But this trait of her personality is not liked by audiences and fans as well. Talking about this season, one of the most popular yet controversial mother-daughter duos is Sunhe and her daughter Angelica.

In the first episode of season four of ‘sMothered', audiences got reacquainted with Sunhe and Angelica. The duo had been introduced to viewers in the first season and since then they both have been loved but also hated. Fans love their rapport but have disliked the closeness and dominance of Sunhe over Angelica and her personal life. It feels like Sunhe doesn’t let her daughter come into her own as a woman. She has also been over-involved in her daughter Angelica’s personal life and many have termed her as a vile and bad woman. Sunhe is constantly dominating her daughter’s life.
In episode one of the fourth season, we see how Angelica gushing about her mother Sunhe said, “Being close to my mom enriches my life. It's just having this person that I can see every single day thinks I can do no wrong.”
Furthermore, Sunhe, praising her daughter shares, “Angelica means the world to me. She literally is the essence of who I am as a mother and my best friend.”
We see glimpses of Angelica sharing how her daughter Amara that she has with her ex Jason means the world to her and then we see a scene where the mother and daughter duo are out having dinner together and enjoying a gala time. Then they both come back and see Jason who gets questioned by Angelica on whether he fed their daughter and he says he made Amara have some nibbles. This statement makes her furious and she shouts at him. Then even Sunhe tells that Jason is the babysitter and not a father since she literally takes care of Amara even though she doesn’t have to. Jason shares that Angelica’s mother is a guest over here and this makes Sunhe go raging with anger. Here Angelica tries calming her mother down but nothing works out.
After watching this episode, fans couldn’t digest the fact of Sunhe’s dominance and over-protectiveness with Angelica on this level. They slammed her constantly for being the worst person ever and has single-handedly destroyed her daughter Angelica’s personal life to the extent that she has literally brainwashed the latter into believing that they can’t live apart from each other.
