SF9 Rowoon bags new role in 'Tomorrow' after period drama 'The King's Affection'
After the successful comeback of K-pop group SF9 with their ninth mini-album, ‘Turn Over,’ Rowoon — the group's 'visual' — also appeared in the ongoing KBS and Netflix K-drama, ‘The King’s Affection’. The ongoing television series telecast by KBS2 cast ‘Hello My Twenties’ actress, Park Eun-bin, and SF9’s Rowoon after he proved his acting chops in the webtoon-based drama, ‘Extraordinary You’.
The K-drama, ‘The King’s Affection’ first aired on October 11 and eight out of its 20 episodes have aired already till now. As Rowoon is being showered with love by fans for his role as Jung Ji-woon, the idol and actor has now announced that he will appear in a new K-drama in the year 2022.

Rowoon’s acting gigs
The year 2021 has been a big year for SF9’s Rowoon who, after appearing as Haru from the 2019 drama ‘Extraordinary You’. Soon after, he appeared in his first lead role in two years in the MBC drama, ‘She Would Never Know’ (Seonbae, Don’t Put on that Lipstick) as Cha Hyun-seung that aired in the first half of 2021 reaffirming Rowoon’s image as a tsundere romantic main lead.
Following that, Rowoon’s current period drama appearance in ‘The King’s Affection’ is his second consecutive main lead role in 2021. It looks like Rowoon will continue to showcase his 6 feet tall presence on screens and charm audiences with yet another K-drama appearance. On November 5, MBC announced their new K-drama titled, ‘Tomorrow’ which is based on a webtoon slated to air in the first half of 2022 starring another tsundere character played by Rowoon.
MBC’s ‘Tomorrow’
Reports from MBC state that the K-drama ‘Tomorrow’ will be a fantasy drama based on underworld mythos featuring supernatural elements. The drama will have angels who lead the ‘dead’ while also saving ‘people who want to die’ before their time. The show will be based on the Naver webtoon ‘Tomorrow’ (also known as, 'Rama'). The drama will have sitcom writer Park Ran as well as rookie writer Kim Yujin as its screenwriters and promises many comedic elements for Rowoon's character.
In ‘Tomorrow,’ Rowoon's character, Choi Jun-woong, is a fresher and contract employee of the ‘Crisis Management Team’ of the underworld monopoly, “Zumadung”. Choi Jun-woong has all the qualifications but is still stuck as a long-term trainee who is constantly seeking new and better employment opportunities. But then, one day his entire team falls into coma by accident leaving Choi Jun-woong as the sole being responsible for leading “Zumadung” all by himself.
The production team of ‘Tomorrow’ said, “We thought Rowoon would be perfect for the role of Choi Jun-woong. We think we will be able to show Rowoon’s new charm and deep acting skills through this drama and we ask for a lot of anticipation and interest.” The K-drama is scheduled to air in the first half of 2022.
