Sean Palmieri accuses former 'Selling the OC' co-star Tyler Stanaland of 'humiliating' ex-wife Brittany Snow
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: Sean Palmieri of 'Selling the OC' talked up for the first time since Season 3 premiered to clear the air after a barrage of complaints.
It's been a little more than a week since Netflix released the next batch of episodes for the 'Selling Sunset' spinoff, and Sean has been silent until now. The reality star spoke exclusively with Entertainment Tonight after opting out of the all-cast press day conducted before the season's premiere.
Sean thinks Tyler Stanaland had a role in what appeared to be a takedown of him in order to deflect attention away from himself, after the first two seasons concentrated on his supposed alliances with other women while married. Tyler has denied any wrongdoing.
"I'm thinking that Tyler’s running around, putting poison in my name, when I'm doing nothing but just speaking the facts," he told ET.
He says Tyler was 'controlling' in their friendship, and he believes Tyler was romantically interested in him. Tyler dismissed any fun conversations between them as just that: playful.
"I called him out on so many things, and he and the rest of the cast started to attack my character," Sean revealed. "Tyler is a man who literally humiliated his now ex-wife in front of the entire world and has done so many horrible things ... yet you wanna talk about my character?"
"Tyler’s been the catalyst in the drama of this entire office, yet he plays the victim," he joked.
Internet hails Sean Palmieri as 'Selling the OC' star breaks silence on Tyler Stanaland drama
As a clip from Sean's interview with ET made the rounds on the internet, fans took to social media to react to the newfound allegations. One user wrote, "The way Tyler speaks to women and his coworkers is disgusting."
Another user chimed in, "Tyler (and Alex) acting like we didn’t see their behavior for 2 seasons… DELULU!!" One user further added, "Ate him up!! See this is why you you should never cross a gay with “nice legs” and a good wardrobe ! 😂."
A fourth person commented, "Wake 👏🏿 it 👏🏿 up 👏🏿 Sean 🗣️. Tyler and Alex want us to believe our own eyes are lying to us but we will not accept to be manipulated. #JusticeForBrittanySnow." Others added, "Sean is on point with this‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️"
One fan also noted, "Everyone should go rewatch season 1 episode 7, the scene between Tyler and Austin talking about his sex life. I believe Sean." Another quipped, "He ate I fear".
Why did Sean Palmieri leave the Oppenheim Group?
Sean left the program and the Oppenheim Group after becoming embroiled in the intense drama on Season 3 involving Austin Victoria and claims of threesomes, swinging, and flirtation. Sean departed the firm in November 2023, after production for Season 3 had ended.
Jason Oppenheim verified that he decided to leave and that he was not dismissed. In an interview with US Weekly, Jason said: "I can’t imagine that the Austin drama didn’t have something to do with it, but I’m sure that professionally he wasn’t finding a lot of success. And then I think maybe this added to the frustration, but I don’t know. It’s really a strong question".
After leaving the program, Sean told Entertainment Tonight, "Unfortunately, the Oppenheim Group was not a culture fit for me".
"I'm really excited for the future, as I just signed as a partner with an amazing, top-producing team and mentor, Steve Games, previous owner of Prudential California Realty and Pacific Sotheby's International Realty. Our team recently just launched with Coldwell Banker West," he explained.
Why did Tyler Stanaland quit the Oppenheim Group?
Tyler departed the Oppenheim Group in October 2023, just before the filming of the 'Selling Sunset' reunion episode.
Tyler noted in a statement to PEOPLE that leaving the Oppenheim Group was not an easy decision, but it was the right one for him and his clients. "Not only am I joining my dad and brother at Douglas Elliman, I’m aligning with a brand that has unparalleled reach and presence in the market with a renowned network of agents and industry leaders."
Tyler's father and brother, John Stanaland and Trevor Stanaland, make brief appearances in 'Selling the OC' Season 3, Episode 6. Tyler explains in their talk that he wants to develop a profitable firm, but he has to move away from the turmoil surrounding the O Group.
Tyler confirmed in his announcement that he will be departing the program, saying, "Selling the OC revolves around agents at the Oppenheim Group. As of today, I will be working at Douglas Elliman."
Tyler's departure will most certainly be addressed in Season 4, as will Alex Hall's response to it and the disintegration of their relationship, but he will not be a member of the cast.
