Dolores Catania and her boyfriend David Principe's relationship is once again the topic of discussion on 'Real Housewives of New Jersey'. David, who is a doctor by profession, reportedly began dating Dolores in 2017, although they made their relationship public in 2019.

Despite being in a relationship for so long, the couple hasn't taken any next steps to cement it. David has neither proposed to Dolores nor even seems to be very big on the idea of getting married, even though the housewife hasn't shied away from expressing her desire of settling down with him. Every time the topic of engagement or marriage comes up David comes up with a very creative excuse to delay it or end the discussion. On an earlier episode of 'RHONJ', when the topic of marriage came up, David conveniently dodged it by placing the blame on Dolores. He said that due to the housewife's busy schedule he wasn't able to plan anything for them.

On the latest episode of 'RHONJ', Dolores was shown winning an award for her incredible work in creating awareness about breast cancer. When she received the award, her ex-husband Frank Catania began crying out of joy, and couldn't stop praising his ex-wife for the amazing work she was doing, while her boyfriend David just congratulated her and walked out.

Later, when she threw a party for the housewives to celebrate her win, Melissa Gorga once again brought up the topic of Dolores' relationship with David. She wondered why Dolores wasn't staying at David's home, when she helped him build it, and designed it. Dolores explained to Melissa that she liked her freedom too much to settle down with David and move into his home.

Neither Melissa nor fans were willing to buy Dolores' excuse, and felt that the housewife did want to get married and settle down with David, but wasn't doing it because of his reluctance. Fans began speculating reasons why David would possibly put off getting married to Dolores. A fan tweeted, "David's excuses for not getting engaged to Dolores are weak! I can't blame Dolores for not wanting to move in with David #RHONJ." Another fan wrote, "I really wonder why David won’t propose, when the agreement was him and Delores were building a house together. The house is built, she has an entire wardrobes in his house, throws parties there, so what’s the hold up? #RHONJ."

Fans are convinced that David either has commitment issues or isn't interested in marriage at all to explain his reluctance to tie the knot to Dolores. A fan wondered, "Does @DoloresCatania realize David has no interest in marriage #RHONJ." Another fan echoed similar thoughts with, "I think David loves Dolores! But dude has commitment issues #rhonj."

Many fans suggested Dolores to dump David, and find herself another man or enjoy her life by herself instead. A fan shared, "I need Dolores to move on I’m tired of David this man does not wanna be with you lol #RHONJ." "David couldn’t even be there for her award? she need to dump him asap #RHONJ," declared a fan.
