‘Respect Tzuyu’: JYPE apologizes after TWICE star is left out of album making footage

JYPE has time and again come under fire by TWICE fans over claims of mistreatment. While the girl group is one of the most popular ones in K-pop they have yet to have a million-seller album as their albums are always out of stock and never restocked. Fans think it is because the label is trying to sabotage them. There are also incidents where individual members have been mistreated. 

Jeongyeon was left out of greetings merch and TWICE’s winter Japanese release. Dahyun was another member that fans claimed was mistreated as she did not get any solo gigs in 2021. And now Tzuyu is in the spotlight. Fans have always pointed out that the youngest member has been the last to get any solo projects or none at all. She also gets little to no screentime in TWICE comebacks. The current wrath was earned when JYPE released an album making footage of their Japanese album ‘TWICE4’.

Tzuyu left out of ‘MORE & MORE’ making intro

On March 18, fans got the DVD of ‘TWICE4’ in which we see behind-the-scenes of the album and music videos' recordings. In the introduction of the ‘MORE & MORE’ music video making, there are no solo shots of Tzuyu as she is accidentally replaced by Momo. And in the segment where we get the making of the music videos, Tzuyu relatively has lesser screentime. ‘Tzuyu Bar’ the biggest Chinese fanbase among all of the other TWICE members’ solo fanbases shared that they would not be doing group orders of albums and merch anymore.

Some fans went as far as to pretend to be Tzuyu’s mother so that JYPE would take their anger seriously. Well, whether it worked or not, the staff members have issued an apology. They shared, “During the final production process of creating the master file, a system failure caused the cut to be replaced. We deeply apologise for causing trouble and unpleasantness to fans. We will pay close attention in the future to prevent such recurrence again.”

'Are you not embarrassed'

Fans however are not accepting this apology as this is not the first time such a mistake has happened and are asking JYPE to do better. One fan commented, “‘System failure’ nah I ain't buying that, they got too relaxed with their quality control so this happened . That MV was filmed almost two years ago, no one really checked all this time during the whole editing process that they placed a shot of Momo instead of Tzuyu.”

One fan responded to the antis belittling the situation after finding out Tzuyu’s mom had not spoken up, “Then we can wait for the real mama chou to come out & she can sue this account for stealing her identity & we’ll get to ask her if she’s against us speaking up for Tzuyu. Put her mom’s words on the side, do you think this mistake is acceptable?” ‘Tzuyu Bar’ went as far as to make a huge thread about Tzuyu’s mistreatment, “Hello, this is ChinaTzuyuBar. Since her debut in 2015, Tzuyu has been treated poorly many times, not once or twice.”

One angry fan posted, “TWICE IS 9 Are you not embarrassed releasing YOUR group's CD and doesn't even bother checking if there are any members being left out or any mistake JYPe trash.” Another ONCE commented, “JYPE PLEASE RESPECT TZUYU 😭 why would they release such video if they haven’t done double checking it??? this is making me so frustrated.” One fan added, “It’s not the first time you make mistakes. It’s always Tzuyu. You have NEVER been held accountable. Is time for you to stop. You have reached too far. TZUYU DESERVES BETTER.”
