In movies like 'Bolt', 'A Dog's Purpose', 'Togo', 'Hachi: A Dog's Tale' and more, the joy and love a dog brings to humans has been captured beautifully. Now, Netflix's 'Rescued By Ruby' is set to be added to the list of such touching watches.

The Netflix true story tells the tale of Dan, a state trooper who dreams of joining the K-9 search and rescue team of the state police. But without enough funds for a dog, he adopts one from a shelter to train as his own K-9. The dog named Ruby turns out to be more than a handful but he doesn't give up on her and with love and patience makes her an excellent search dog. Grant Gustin as Daniel O'Neil

Grant Gustin is a popular American actor and singer whose career began in 2004 with the film 'Rain'. Having known what he liked from a young age he even left school to take the role of Baby John in the Broadway Revival Tour of 'West Side Story'. He went on to gain more recognition as Sebastian Smythe, an openly gay member of the Dalton Academy Warblers on the teen musical drama 'Glee'. Later on, he bagged the main role of Barry Allen aka the speedster Flash on the hit superhero CW series 'The Flash' and even makes appearances in the crossover episodes of 'Arrow', 'Supergirl', 'Legends of Tomorrow' and others. His works include 'Affluenza', 'Krystal', 'Tom and Grant' among others.

He is a dog-lover and has three pups of his own that he raises with his wife Andrea 'LA' Thoma. Gustin will essay the lead role of the State Trooper Daniel O'Neil in the Netflix movie.



 

Kaylah Zander as Melissa O'Neil

Kaylah Zander Nuñez is a Canadian actress hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia. She initially did a BA in Anthropology at the University of British Columbia before beginning to audition for film and television in 2017. She is known for her role in the movie 'Hekademia' and also starred in recurring roles on 'iZombie' and Netflix's 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'. Zander will essay the role of Melissa O'Neil, wife of Daniel who supports and trains Ruby in 'Rescued by Ruby'.

The rest of the cast includes Scott Wolf as Matt Zarella, Camille Sullivan as Pat Inman, Tom McBeath as Seamus Brady, Sharon Taylor as Sam Johnson, Eileen Pedde as Sergeant Amanda Grinell, and more.

'Rescued by Ruby' is set to be released on March 17, 2022, on Netflix.
