'Project Runway': Angry fans slam judges for sending Sabrina home instead of Katie

'They saved the Mormon clown lady AGAIN?! Ugh. #ProjectRunway,' commented a fan

Watching your favorite designer being given the boot on 'Project Runway' is never easy, but what's harder is watching a designer who hasn't performed great consistently being saved by the judges. The Bravo shows' fans were fuming when a similar situation played out on the recently aired episode of 'Project Runway'. The designers were tasked with a challenge of creating a look for guest clients Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir for their appearance during the 2022 Olympics.

Since Tara and Johnny will be sitting in the commentators' box, they made it very clear that they wanted an outfit that would make a statement and the emphasis should be on the top half of the design, as the audience can only see the top halves of the commentators. Tara and Johnny gave the designers some hints on what they were looking for. Tara requested the designers for a dress with an interesting neckline, while Johnny wanted to go "full Hunger Games" with his outfit. They also warned the designers not to make the look too voluminous and to add some color. The designers were then paired into groups of two to design the outfits within a day.

The pairs comprised of Octavio and Katie, Bones and Anna, Zayden and Chasity, Shantall and Aaron, Sabrina and Prajje, and Kristina and Coral. While preparing the designs, Sabrina's body began to hurt due to her arthritis and she found it very difficult to focus on designing due to the pain. Although neither Prajje nor she had any prior experience of designing for men, she still volunteered to design for Johnny so that Prajje could focus on Tara's design. Despite their best attempts, Prajje and Sabrina's design failed to impress the judges, Johnny went on to dub Sabrina's design as what a cartoon skater would wear. 

Alongside Prajje and Sabrina, Octavio and Katie too found themselves at the bottom. Octavio's shirt was extremely voluminous while Katie's design was extremely simple and the silhouette was very unflattering. After some deliberation, the judges decided to send Sabrina home. Fans were unhappy with judges' decision as they felt that Katie should have been sent home as she has consistently been in the bottom.

A fan tweeted, "I’m surprised she went home… other than it obviously looking costume-y, it was well made. #ProjectRunway." "Woah they KEPT Katie and sent SABRINA home?? I mean Sabrina's look was NOT great AT ALL -- but I think it was BETTER than Katie's was... #ProjectRunway," wrote a fan. Another fan added, "Sabrina over Katie???? SMH #projectrunway."

Another fan shared, "They saved the Mormon clown lady AGAIN?! Ugh. #ProjectRunway." "Biiiiitttttccchhhhh Katie gets to design again. I can't believe this. Her a** better win next week #ProjectRunway," expressed a fan. Another fan seconded with, "They definitely got rid of the wrong person. Katie should have been eliminated because each week she has an excuse #ProjectRunway."
