People's Choice Awards 2022: Selma Blair bags The Competition Contestant, fans say 'she deserved it'

SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood's biggest celebrities shined on People's Choice Awards on Tuesday, December 6. Selma Blair grabbed the award for 'Dancing With the Stars'. The Disney+ show was on the list of The Competition Contestants of 2022 chosen this year for the People's Choice Awards.

Blair, 50, who competed in the Disney+ dancing show in Season 31, was seen donning a black minidress. As her name was announced she walked down the stage with a black cane in her hand. The actress was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018. And ever struggling through it she chose to come to the show to showcase her talent and ability.

As soon as the award was handed to Blair, fans flooded the internet with congratulatory messages. A fan tweeted, "Yessss Selma Blair rocking her dress and cane and being such a big voice for MS. She deserves this award! Thank you for being you and sharing your journey." Another wrote, "Selma Blair is a national treasure." "So wonderful to see #SelmaBlair Looking good, darling," tweeted another fan. "I want to hug you Selma Blair, you deserve the world," said another fan.

After several issues faced in the middle of 'DWTS' Season 31, Blair stepped out of the show in Week 5. Back then, she posed on her social media, "What this show has given me is beyond measure in spirit life." Even though she got off the show, Blair remained in everyone's hearts for her brave performance every week. 

Disney+'s dancing show was one among the eight reality shows category of The Reality Show of 2022. Moreover, 'DWTS' star Blair was nominated for The Competition Show of 2022. Along with her, two other contestants, Charli D'Amelio and Gabby Windey were also nominated. Moreover, other competition show stars Bosco for 'RuPaul’s Drag Race', Mayyas for 'America’s Got Talent', Teyana Taylor for 'The Masked Singer', Willow Pill for 'RuPaul’s Drag Race', and Noah Thompson for 'American Idol' were also on the nomination list. 

Blair has always been about the issues she has been facing regarding her health. The star just now uploaded a video on her social media saying, "I've been very open about my health and what’s become really clear to me over the last couple of years is that women’s health needs are not always heard, even our most basic everyday needs like menstrual health access." She further asked for fans' support and allies to make things better for women in the world.

The fan-voted award show took place at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California. People's Choice Awards honored 40 categories. The show was hosted by Kenan Thompson, who introduced guests from different genres of TV, film, and social media.
