This March, the Lifetime network, which is the exclusive home of VC Andrews' movies, will premiere the next movie series based on the Landry book series. The VC Andrews' Landry Family book series includes 'Ruby, 'Pearl in the Mist', 'All That Glitters' and 'Hidden Jewel'.

This book series is the second highest-selling series by Andrews and, according to reports, has become the network's latest adaptation of the author's work. VC Andrews' 'Pearl in the Mist' premieres on Sunday, March 21, at 8/7c.

Plot

Since there are four movies, the official press release states that "the movie series follows Ruby Landry, who after being raised by her loving spiritual healer grandmother in the Louisiana bayou, is ensnared in a world of dark family secrets and betrayal upon discovering that she has another family living in New Orleans."

Based on the second book in the VC Andrews' Landry Family book series, "'Pearl in the Mist' finds Ruby still struggling to find true happiness, after a year of living at her father’s lavish mansion. When Ruby and her twin Giselle (Karina Banno) are sent away to an exclusive all-girls boarding school, Ruby is hopeful for a new start with her sister.

But when Ruby is once again shamed for her backwater upbringing and her cruel Headmistress Mrs Ironwood (Henner) along with her stepmother Daphne (Bell) and Giselle continue to plot against her, Ruby must endure torturous punishments and public humiliation. Ruby holds out hope and continues to dream of a better future until tragedy leaves her alone in a world of deceit."

Raechelle is known for her works as Olivia Fraser Richards in 'Home and Away' (2015-2018), Nouchka Bortsov in 'Second Best' (2018), Emma in 'Phenomena' (2018) and Courtney in 'In Your Dreams.' She is present in all four VC Andrews movies including 'All That Glitters' (2021), 'Hidden Jewel' (2021), and 'Ruby' (2021).

Her recent works include the TV series 'Pandora' (2019), '@BladeRoller: Case Unsolved' (2020) and '100% Wolf: Legend of the Moonstone' (2020-2021)

Karina Banno as Giselle

Karina, who is in all four VC Andrew's movies as well is known for her roles as Velika Bortsov in 'Second Best' (2018), Erin in 'Reckoning' (2019), and Tanya in 'Mr Inbetween' (2019). Her other works include 'The Letdown' (2019), 'Pandora' (2019), 'Portrait (2019) and 'Fam Time'.

The rest of the cast includes Marilu Henner, Gil Bellows, Lauralee Bell as Daphne, Richard Harmon, Sam Duke and Ty Wood as Beau.

Creators

The movie is directed by David Bercovici-Artieda and it is based on the books written by VC Andrews with screenplay by Richard Blaney and Gregory Small. Dan Angel, Tom Berry, Jane Charles, Breanne Hartley and Jane Startz serve as executive producers. Matthew Chipera and Ric Nish serve as producers.
