PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: 'Palm Royale', a period comedy series on Apple TV+, has concluded its run on May 8, 2024. Making its debut in March, the Kristen Wiig starrer narrates the adventures of Maxine Simmons striving to attain a place in the high society of Palm Beach.

The series has allured fans with its retro setting, gorgeous outfits, entertaining characters and their over-the-top drama. As the exciting journey of the Palm Beach residents come to an end, here's a look at our favorite characters from the show.

1. Maxine Simmons

Maxine Simmons, the central character of 'Palm Royale', is undoubtedly the show-stealer in Apple TV+ series. Her character has been finely written with intricate nuances that make the viewers resonate with her.

Maxine initially appears to be an attention seeking, desperate woman. She is also labelled as a 'gold digger'. However, one can't deny the notion completely.

Even though she didn't marry Douglas for money, she is indeed guilty of stealing valuables from Norma, only to afford a rich lifestyle.

However, at the same time, she is a kind-hearted woman, who means no ill for anyone around her. She is ready to become a laughing stock to save a stranded whale.

Maxine isn't a perfect woman. It is, in fact, her imperfection that wins over the audience.

Kristen Wiig has perfectly played the part and as an audience, we cannot imagine anyone else filling Maxine's shoes.

2. Robert Diaz

Robert Diaz is mysterious and adorable at the same time. He is introduced as a bartender and Norma's pool boy in the initial episodes of the series. However, as his character gains further spotlight, we are helplessly drawn into his life.

He is a war veteran who now lives a peaceful life in Palm Beach. He is popular among women, courtesy of his gentleman nature and cute smile.

However, being gay in a hostile society has consistently denied him the experience of true love. He carries immense pain behind his smile and silence.

Actor Ricky Martin adds gravitas to the character with his fine acting skills.

3. Norma Dellacorte

Our third favorite character has to be Norma Dellacorte. She has limited appearance in the initial episodes. However, as she begins to recover from her illness, she walks into the spotlight and swoons us with her evil schemes.

Veteran actress Carol Burnett, through her fine facial expressions, portrays the varied emotions of Norma. Her appearance on screen is comic and exciting in each episode.

4. Douglas Dellacorte

Douglas Dellacorte, played by Josh Lucas, perfectly complements Maxine Simmons in 'Palm Royale'. He isn't a lovable character but surely an intriguing one.

He leaves his high-paying job as a commercial pilot only to follow his wife to Palm Beach and her desire to acquire the Dellacorte wealth.

He lies to his wife, keeps secrets and even cheats on her. But his immense love for his wife forces you to not hate him. Douglas' character gets an exciting development, making it one of our favorite characters.

5. Linda Shaw

Linda Shaw is a recurring character in the show. She is Maxine's true friend in a society full of hypocrites. However, she isn't a saint either.

She has kept her secrets, made irreversible mistakes, and renounced her family name to become a "feminist".

Laura Dern as Linda is a breeze every time she appears on screen. That being said, this character had much more potential to be explored.

However, she is sidelined at numerous moments, especially with her character been missing throughout Episode 8.

'Palm Royale' is available to stream on Apple TV+.
