PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Troubles don't seem to end anytime soon for Douglas Dellacorte (Josh Lucas) in Apple TV+'s 'Palm Royale'. It all started when he left his job as a commercial pilot and started living off his aunt Norma Dellacorte's (Carol Burnett) wealth.
The first shock kicked in when he learned that he won't be inheriting anything. Secondly, he landed himself in prison for investing in a shady real-estate deal and bribing the officials under Perry Donohue's (Jordan Bridges) influence.
Though his wife Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) has been his savior all along, a new set of problems has knocked at his door in the latest episode.
Is Douglas Dellacorte cheating on Maxine Simmons in 'Palm Royale'?
In 'Palm Royale' Episode 8, viewers discover that Douglas Dellacorte has cheated on Maxine Simmons. Douglas has been involved with Mitzi (Kaia Gerber), a young woman working as a stewardess at the club, and has had brief recurrences throughout the series.
The affair has been short-lived and meaningless as Douglas is truly in love with Maxine and doesn't want their marriage to end.
He had a moment of distraction with Mitzi in a drunken state and upon realizing his mistake, he paid her off to leave the town, so that Maxine could never find out about the affair.
Douglas Dellacorte gets arrested again in 'Palm Royale'
Troubles escalate for Douglas as he gets arrested again in the climax scene of 'Palm Royale' Episode 8.
Douglas meets Robert Diaz (Ricky Martin) in a bar where he confesses having an affair with Mitzi and asks Robert to keep it a secret. However, their conversation is interrupted when the bar is raided and they both are arrested, with Douglas realizing that it is a bar for homosexuals.
At this point, his fate remains uncertain as he not only keeps landing in legal troubles but also struggles to keep his marriage afloat.
In the upcoming episode, we might see Douglas continuing his attempts to hide his truth while Maxine may eventually discover the infidelity.
