P1Harmony and Pink Sweat$ to drop 'Gotta Get Back', fans say: 'Collab of the year'

While this is P1Harmony's first collab, Pink Sweat$ has worked in K-pop before with Crush, Seventeen, GOT7's Bambam and B.I

It is a good day to be a K-pop fan as we are getting news after news. It was first announced that not only would Girls’ Generation be reuniting, but they would also be making a comeback after 5 years. We then had all of the TWICE members opening their personal Instagram accounts, while Seventeen announced their fourth world tour which would also include their canceled first Japan Dome Tour. And now, rookie group P1Harmony is going global from having their first US tour to collaborating with the likes of Pink Sweat$.

The rising American R&B star Pink Sweat$ has been pretty much adopted by K-pop fans, thanks to his genuine appreciation and love for the genre. He met up with aespa at Coachella, was a guest star at B.I’s first solo concert last year, and even worked with GOT7’s Bambam on his previous comeback as he co-wrote the lead single ‘Slow Mo’. Older fans also reminded everyone that he has worked with the likes of ‘OST King’ Crush, and even Seventeen’s Joshua and DK. And he continues to expand his K-pop discography as he is working with P1Harmony next after attending their US concert in March.

P1Harmony teams up with Pink Sweat$

On May 17, it was announced that Pink Sweat$ and P1Harmony had worked on the collaborative single ‘Gotta Get Back’ and would be releasing it on May 26. The artists have been pretty hands-on as it is composed by Pink Sweat$ himself, while P1Harmony members Intak and Jongseob have written the lyrics of the track. Fans are flexing the organic growth of the K-pop group as they went from covering Pink Sweat$’s viral hit ‘At My Worst’ back in March to teaming up with him for a song. This also happens to be the boy group’s first collaboration since their debut.

‘Super cute’

Fans were excited as one tweeted, “Collab of the year @P1H_official and @realpinksweats kings.” Another was proud of Intak and Jongseob, “Seobtak did it again.” One fan added, “FROM GETTING RECOGNIZED BY HIM TO COLLABING 💔 IM SO PROUD.” Another fan commented, “HELLOOO?!?! NEW SONG WITH @realpinksweats AND @P1H_official ?!!!?! DROPPING NEXT WEEK?!?! IM GONNA LOSE MY MIND OH MY GOD.”

One loved the album art, “I feel like this collab should have some kind of release or merch or something with it. i feel it’d be super cute, i’d probably spend too much money on it.” One guessed, “I know jiung was whistling, skipping, and finding shapes in the clouds leaving the studio after recording the collab.”
