Did the White family survive the landing?
Doug White, with a heavy heart, takes a flight back to Louisiana with his family after his brother's funeral on Easter Sunday. White, his wife and two teenage daughters have made the trip with their pilot, Joe. The pilot begins to feel unwell and passes out in mid-air. The situation completely throws White for a loop. He tries to call the Miami Center for help. Lisa from the center takes charge to guide White, who has no flying experience. He is sent to Fort Myers with experienced pilot Brian, where they do their best to help the family on the flight. Dan, a Fort Myers employee, takes the help of Kari, an experienced pilot with family history, to help White and his family land safely and survive the storm headed their way. As White follows Kari's instructions about a joint connection from Fort Myers, her call is interrupted. With no contact and no knowledge of flying, White loses hope. Kari finds a way to contact the family using Joe's phone. He instructs White on how to land safely. With all the help on the desk and faith in God, the family makes it down safely and survives their nightmare vacation.
Doug White's faith in God is restored
After the sudden death of his brother, Doug White is shaken, broken, and angry at God, so in a sense he loses his faith. When the journey home takes a turn and trouble arises, he breaks into pieces inside. As he tries to keep his family safe, he turns to God for help. When Kari finally contacts White, his faith is restored. He tells his family to pray while he takes responsibility for landing them safely. Once they land, he thanks God and apologizes for having doubts about him.
