NMIXX 'AD MARE': Release date, tracks, debut showcase, all about JYP rookies 1st album

After Bae tested positive for Covid-19, their debut showcase has been postponed but NMIXX will drop ‘AD MARE’ as scheduled on February 22

The debut of JYP Entertainment’s NMIXX is one of the highly anticipated K-pop debuts and all credit goes to the label for hyping the group up so much, ahead of their official reveal. The label had released their limited edition ‘Blind Package’ without even revealing the members of NMIXX (previously JYPn) — a successful strategy.

JYP Entertainment, one of the ‘Big 3’ labels of K-pop, seemed to have nailed the rookie group launch, with NMIXX selling approximately 60,000 copies of ‘Blind Package’ in July of 2021,  way ahead of the official debut. Now, as the group gears towards its debut, the group is facing multiple challenges like member Bae testing positive for Covid-19 that has, in turn, postponed their debut showcase as well as the alleged leaking of their debut title track, ‘O.O’. Despite these challenges, NMIXX is still heading towards its big debut with their first single album dropping on the same day.

Release Date

The single album from NMIXX titled, ‘AD MARE’ will be released on February 22 at 6 pm KST (4 am ET).

According to the tracklist released from the group, the debut single album from NMIXX will feature two singles and the instrumental versions of both singles. The song, ‘O.O’ (OO) serves as the title track of the song which embodies NMIXX’s strong confidence that will ensure that fans are surprised by seeing something new with this debut. NMIXX’s debut lead single is produced by The Hub who is also known for collaborating with K-pop acts like TWICE, ITZY, Treasure, and Enhypen among others.

The b-side song ‘Tank’ (which translates to Fortune) depicts a bold story of NMIXX members charging up and confronting the world. The song’s title is inspired by a Chinese character which helps the members express the aspirations they have with their debut - to take over the world.

Concept

With their tagline of ‘Nice to MIXX you’, the upcoming girl group from JYP Entertainment released several concept photos from all seven members of the group increasing the anticipation amongst fans for their debut. In the published photos, NMIXX showed off dazzling visuals with silk dresses, white pearls, and leather garters that create an elegant yet strong atmosphere. With their confident gaze that stares into the camera each of the members looks like JYP’s most ambitious group so far.

Debut showcase

After member Bae tested positive for Covid-19, JYP announced that the label will be releasing the debut single album from NMIXX on the same day as scheduled. The label also announced a postponement of their debut showcase, where NMIXX members will perform the single ‘O.O’ for the first time on Tuesday, March 1, five days after their official debut.
