Netflix 'Muted' Episode 5 Review: Sergio's desperate move turns investigation upside down

MADRID, SPAIN: Netflix’s psychological crime thriller ‘Muted’ has taken a psychological toll, leaving its fans on the edge. Ana discovers a secret door that unfolds unexpected events. She also finds herself deeply connected with Sergio. Both are special and gifted, but have problems with self-control that tie them together. It was revealed later that Sergio’s sister lives with Ana, and she adopted her after her parent’s death.
In Episode 5 of the Spanish thriller series ‘Muted’, Ana focuses on spending her day with Noa and her husband. As they were not thrilled to see her, Ana’s course of action took a toll on her personal life. Moreover, Cabrera threatens Sergio (Aron Piper), forcing him to make desperate moves. He visits his grandparents’ house to find out about Noa and makes a trade with her aunt, who then gives him Noa’s number. Also, Eneko is still madly in love with Marta after both did things they shouldn’t have done. Unfortunately, Eneko makes another stunt at hurting Marta as she finds out that he released the sex tape of her. Finally, Ana is forced to take action after Sergio gets hold of Noa’s number and texts her. This episode unravels different events that will connect the dots in the finale of ‘Muted’ Season 1.

Ana’s obsession threatens her personal life
When Ana visits her family after days, her husband and daughter seem disappointed. Also, when they go to Noa’s school to talk about her changing behavior with her teacher, Ana’s husband asks her to shut down the investigation as it was taking a toll on their life, especially Noa’s. However, obsessed Ana refuses to do so as she is adamant on proving that Sergio is a victim of domestic violence and that he is a good person. Unfortunately, her infatuation with Sergio pushes her family away.
How did Sergio get hold of Noa’s number?
Cabrera threatens Sergio as he is fixated on sending Sergio back to the detention center. He bribes Mikel and threatens Greta to destroy Ana’s investigation. However, he seems to be failing in his trap. Sergio gets furious and makes a desperate move. He secretively runs to leave his house and visit his grandparent’s home. Sadly, his grandfather has dementia and doesn’t remember Noa. Suddenly, his aunt appears, with whom he trades to get Noa’s number. He gives up his father’s heritage to his aunt in exchange for Noa’s number. Soon after, he goes to the greenhouse to remove his ankle bracelet because he desperately wants to meet Noa before he gets sent back to detention. However, unexpected events occur at the greenhouse as Sergio almost murders Nataneal and runs away with his car to find Noa.
Eneko’s effort to reconcile with Marta
Eneko has made quite a fuss by disappointing Marta repeatedly. As he is clearly vulnerable with Marta, he tries to reconcile by showing her a house. Marta is nearly impressed by him and thinks of moving together until a message on Eneko’s cell phone reveals he’s the one that leaked Marta’s sex tape. From what it looks like, it is unlikely they will end up together.
Ana confronts Sergio
When Sergio sends a text message to Noa’s number, luckily, her phone is with Ana, who sees the message and takes unpredictable action. Ana is at Noa’s concert, where she’s playing, and as soon as she notices Sergio’s message, she is baffled. When Sergio gets back to his house, expecting Noa to visit, the bell rings, but to everyone’s surprise it’s Ana! The entire story is muddled and leaves us perplexed by Ana confronting Sergio. Let’s see what the finale has in store and what more surprises will come our way.
