'iCarly' Reboot: Release date, plot, cast and all you need to know about the teen sitcom revival by Paramount+

The original 'iCarly' series had a 97-episode run from 2007 to 2012 on Nickelodeon. It followed a group of best friends from middle school who created a “home-grown web show” while encountering everyday problems and adventures. So have you missed watching Carly, Sam, Freddie and Spencer on your screen? Worry no more! The hit teen sitcom is returning with its original cast including Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress, according to reports. If you're thrilled about the comeback of the series, here's everything you need to know about it. 

Release date 

The reboot series has been ordered by Paramount Plus. The creators are yet to reveal more details regarding its premiere. Watch the space for an update on the same. 

Plot 

It is yet to be known if the series's revival will be based on a different plot or follow the original. The original series followed the three teenagers as their adolescent lives get thrown in the loop when they learn they've become Internet sensations. However, it's been over eight years since the comedy series concluded and we can expect to see a lot of changes in the lives of the characters.

Miranda Congrove played the role of Carly Shay in 'iCarly'. She's known for her roles in 'School of Rock', 'Drake & Josh', 'Despicable Me'. She made her music debut with a soundtrack album for 'iCarly' in 2008. She has had voice roles on video games such as 'iCarly' and 'iCarly 2: iJoin the Click'. Cosgrove's film credits include 'A Mouse Tale', 'The Intruders', 'Khan Kluay' among others. 

Jerry Trainor

American actor Jerry Trainor is best known for his roles in Nickelodeon's 'Drake & Josh' and 'T.U.F.F Puppy'. He essayed the role of Spencer Shay in 'iCarly'. He has performed in films like 'Alex and Me', 'Cover Version' and 'Pororo, The Racing Adventure'. His 'The Loud House', 'Bunk'd', 'The Adventures of Kid Danger' among others. 

Nathan Kress

Nathan Kress is an American actor popular for playing Freddie Benson on 'iCarly' and voicing Wedge Antilles in Disney's 'Star Wars Rebels'. Kress's film credits include '8 Bodies', 'Breaking Brooklyn', 'Tell Me How I Die' and 'Into the Storm'. He has performed in television series like 'Pinky Malinky', 'LA to Vegas', 'Henry Danger' among others. 

Creators 

Jay Kogen and Ali Schouten have produced the series and also served as the executive producers.
