SM Entertainment announces NCT Dream online paid concert, fans say 'don’t be greedy'

The label announced a new online concert called 'Dream Stage: Glitch Mode' to celebrate the release of NCT Dream’s upcoming March album

NCTzens (NCT fans) may be divided about how they like the new announcement about NCT Dream, the official subunit of the 23 member boy group NCT from SM Entertainment. On March 6, the label announced that NCT Dream will be holding an online concert to celebrate the release of their upcoming full-length album ‘Glitch Mode’ that drops on March 28, 2022.

The label released their official announcement via Naver, stating that the upcoming concert from NCT Dream titled ‘Glitch Mode: Dream Stage’ (aka 'DREAM STAGE: Glitch Mode') will be broadcast live via live streaming platform Beyond Live on April 5. Most K-pop groups promote their albums via comeback stages on music shows, which is why some fans of the group believe that SM Entertainment is trying to make money off the idols by charging a fee for the upcoming NCT Dream online concert ‘Dream Stage’.

The official announcement stated that in the upcoming online concert, ‘Dream Stage: Glitch Mode’, members of NCT Dream will present the songs from their upcoming album ‘Glitch Mode’ which is the second regular album from the K-pop group. It is expected that the upcoming concert will be a structured composition that looks like a musical, while fans can also expect a surprise from the members.

Fans, who heard about the concert, have started asking SM Entertainment important questions. One fan said, “The comeback show should be a free concert, right? All artists hold a free comeback show to promote the new album with the fans and upload the performances on YouTube to let others see. You should save the paid concert for the offline ones now. Don’t be too greedy with the boys.”

One more fan said, “But are you don't have any precomeback content like track video or 7llin' in the dream? Please this is cb season but until now i don't feel like cb season. Please give us time table.”

'Better save money for their concert'

Most fans of the group are talking about how they expected a free comeback show but the label is making money out of a free event. One fan said, “The thing is this is a comeback show. i don't think theres any other SM artists that make paid broadcast for their comeback show. they even got TV coverage tho. why suddenly we needs to pay for dreamies comeback show BETTER WE SAVE MONEY FOR THEIR CONCERT."

Another fan said, "Ngl i love this but it makes me think... why can't just sm give nct dream a proper concert. when will it be their turn." Another fan said, "Nct dream online concert pls I'm broke."

One more fan said, "IS THIS A CONCERT??? BRUH HAVE MERCY WE'RE BROKE." One added, "I find it weird that in the statement you guys didn't mention it being free or not..... hmm that's a very important thing... btw if anything doesn't know, it's not free."
