NCT's Chenle has a sweet exchange with LGBTQ+ fan, Little Suns call him a 'real idol'

In a recent fansign two female fans revealed that they were in a relationship and Chenle's response to it was the sweetest

With South Korea still being a conservative country, the K-pop industry deters artists from outrightly supporting LGBT+. But that hasn’t stopped K-pop idols as they defy gender norms and speak up in support of LGBT+ rights whenever they can. So, while the west may find it odd that fans hype idols for doing the bare minimum, K-pop fans know the gravity behind their idols' intentions as they put their career on the line. And NCT’s Chenle’s latest interaction has left fans moved.

Fan signs and meet and greets have gone online due to the pandemic. And on August 27, NCTzens got a chance to enter an event hosted by Yizhiyu and win the chance to have a video call with NCT Dream members. Two of the female fans who won and got to speak to Chenle happen to be girlfriends. They decided to tell him about it and his reaction was absolutely the sweetest.

Chenle has a fansign with an LGBT+ fan

The female OP (original poster) asked Chenle if he remembered the girl who showed him a photocard earlier. Turns out that that girl is OP’s girlfriend and they were both huge fans of him. He was delighted as he asked how long they were together to which she replied two months. She was disappointed that they couldn’t meet because of the pandemic to which Chenle felt sorry.

OP then ended up asking him to give his blessing which he obliged. Chenle said that he wished instead of a super passionate love, he hoped they could love each other normally for a very long time. He hoped that they would only journey on a smooth path which he feels is the most important thing.

Chenle's fans, who call themselves little suns, found the wholesome interaction endearing as they made tweets like, “He also shares a lot of nice words and thoughts on his radio show. He isn't just nice he is one of the realest idols you can ever know,” and “Every day this man reminds me why i think he’s so amazing. also op i hope you guys are super happy.” One fan posted, “In Chenle we trust.” Another fan added, “Ggahd he is so precious.” One NCTzen also said, "AW THIS IS SO CUTE." Another commented, "Idk it warms my heart so much. i know he’s not really doing anything but seeing idols being so accepting towards lgbtq people make any heart warm." One fan joked that they wanted something similar so they too could share it with Chenle, "Chenle sapphic protector that’s right! now who will be my little sun partner."
