While ARMY (BTS' fandom) all over the world were disappointed when BTS schedules were canceled amid the pandemic, they now have cause to rejoice. Previously, BTS' world tour was officially canceled and their live performances were all held without an audience. But with the situation getting under control, fans once again have the chance to see their favorites in person. In fact, BTS is set to take over the 2021 AMAs with Coldplay.

Back in September, fans were over the moon when BTS announced that not only were they going to have online concerts for ‘Permission to Dance’, they would also be having its offline counterpart with a four-day offline concert at SoFi Stadium. The world-class stadium happens to be located in Los Angeles, California, which means LA and West Coast ARMY have a chance to see BTS live more than once. And not just at the ‘Permission to Dance On Stage’ Concert. The boys have been invited to the 2021 AMAs.

BTS to perform with Coldplay and Megan Thee Stallion

Everyone was impressed when BTS bagged three nominations at the 2021 AMAs aka American Music Awards. Including ‘Favorite Pop Duo/Group’ and ‘Favorite Pop Song’, the global K-pop group has also been nominated in a grand prize category -- ‘Artist Of The Year’. They have made history by becoming the first Asian act to be nominated for ‘Artist Of The Year’ award. But there’s more. It was first reported that they would be performing ‘Butter’ in front of an audience for the first time and to make it extra special, Megan Thee Stallion will be joining them for the remix version.

But it looks like the 2021 AMAs is going to become a BTS concert, as along with ‘Butter’, a second song is in their setlist. They will also perform their second collab, ‘My Universe’ with Coldplay. Along with the news of the Coldplay stage, fans spotted BTS leaving South Korea and landing in LA on November 18. ARMY were hyped up as they couldn’t get over their airport fashion as they sported brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton and sported new hairstyles. They were also impressed and trended ‘#BTS2ndAirportWin’ as BTS escaped the mob of fans through a private exit at the LA airport.

'Glow up of the century'

Fans made tweets like, “I’m curious to see what the staging will be like since for the collab with Megan it’s obvious that Megan can just dance with them but I wonder how it’s going to look for my universe.” One fan joked that 2021 AMAs would just become a BTS concert, “AND WHEN MY UNIVERSE AND BUTTER FINISHES AND THE WHOLE AREA GOES DARK AND LOUDER THAN BOMBS STARTS PLAYING.” Another ARMY anticipated the audience’s reaction, “When they do the “YOU. YOU ARE. MY UNIVERSE” part and an ocean of armys respond back, ARE YOU CRAZYHSDNDJD.”

They also had hilarious responses to BTS deftly escaping the airport mob which had appeared despite the label telling fans not to go wait at the airport. One fan commented, “#BTS2ndAirportWin the glow up of the century. YOU CAN GO HOME NOW YOU DISMISSED.” Another shared, “Y'all lost sleep, skipped school, drove all the way to LAX in a pandemic to see bts just for y'all to go home empty handed #BTS2ndAirportWin.” One ARMY posted, “It's pure pleasure for my eyes watching stalker updates on tl who foolishly waited at airport failing to get a glimpse of tannies while boys reached their restrooms safely without getting mobbed. Congrats #BTS2ndAirportWin.”
