MTV VMAs 2022: Blackpink's celebrity interactions prove everyone is secretly a Blink

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Who would have guessed the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards would turn into a fan meeting where Blackpink will be facing so many of their industry competitors and making new friends? The four-member girl group made its US Award show debut by appearing at the 2022 VMAs hosted at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on August 28. The show was attended by the who's who of International pop and Blackpink was one of the many big names at the event.

The 2022 MTV VMAs also saw Blackpink make their performance debut at an international award show as they performed their recent release, 'Pink Venom', on stage. The performance from Blackpink got an amazing reaction from big names like Taylor Swift, actor Dylan O'Brien and more who were present in the audience. Meanwhile, it seemed like from the red carpet to backstage, Blackpink really is every international artist's favorite K-pop girl group as one after the other celebrities mentioned how excited they were to see the group perform or meet with.

Blackpink has best interactions at 2022 MTV VMAs

At the 2022 MTV VMAs, Blackpink won the award for the Best Metaverse Performance for their virtual sixth-anniversary concert 'The Virtual' where the girl group collaborated with the game PUBG as they performed their single, 'Ready For Love'. Lisa shocked fans as well as the rest of the audience by winning the Best in K-pop award at the show for her solo debut single, 'Lalisa'.

While Lisa was on stage, fans were able to see the other members cheer her on as they gave their supportive reactions to her winning an award for her solo release. Another person who seemed to have been smitten by Lisa as she walked on stage was American rapper, Jack Harlow. Fans shared video clips of Jack reacting to Lisa walking on stage to receive her award as one said, "I got his name in my special book, he better step back."



 

As Jack Harlow expressed his disbelief looking at Lisa, there were other singers that gave away the fact that they are hardcore Blinks. Singers Dove Cameron, Lil Nas X, and Sabrina Carpenter who also attended the show made it obvious that Blackpink was their favorite K-pop group and they were here to support the girls.

When Lisa was announced as the winner of the Best in K-pop title, fans were able to see Dove Cameron's excitement as one fan said, "Dove Cameron was MANIFESTING for Lisa to win lmaoo." Singer Lil Nas X was also shocked to learn that Blackpink was in the audience at the 2022 MTV VMAs as his appreciation of the girl was captured on camera.

His reaction had a fan say, "HES A BLINK." On the other hand, in her interview, Sabrina Carpenter was asked who she was hoping to run into at the show when she mentioned that meeting Blackpink would do it for her. At this, a fan said, "Queens supporting queens!!!!!"



 



 



 

Aside from this, Blackpink members were able to interact with a lot of artists like Lizzo who met Lisa and Jisoo backstage and posted a TikTok video with the two. Meanwhile, Rose was a social butterfly at the show as she was captured with Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Nicki Minaj while the girl group as a whole met singer, Khalid.

Blinks were manifesting for Blackpink to meet Taylor Swift at the show but Rose was the only lucky member to meet the international pop sensation in person. However, Taylor showed her support to the girls in various ways as she posted a TikTok with the 'Pink Venom' audio while also having a gala time as the girls performed the song on stage. Actor Dylan O'Brien, who featured in Taylor's music video also had fans swooning at his reactions to Blackpink's stage performance.



 



 

Meanwhile, Blackpink will be making their full album comeback with the release of their second studio album, 'Born Pink' that drops on September 16 this year.
