Latest buzz about ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’

The film ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’ is a modern-day adaptation based on a novel of the same name, originally written by author Paul Gallico. The movie has been extensively filmed and shot in the picturesque locations of Hungary, London and Paris, during the fall of 2020. Universal Pictures is set to release the film globally in theatres.

In an earlier interview with The Guardian dated November 2020, when asked about what is her character in ‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’ like, on this Lesley Manville said, “It’s feel good. Like a musical, without the music. It’s going to look gorgeous and it’s going to be a real bit of escapism”. In an interview with Hungary Today, dated May 2020, producer Daniel Kresmery opened up about the film shoot. “The production has brought together the internationally the two renowned actresses for the first time”.

‘Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris’ will feature several original Dior dresses, Kresmery added, “The film will feature several original Dior dresses including ones presented from Christian Dior’s last collection during a fashion show”. He spilled details on the film shooting locations and said, “The film was originally planned to be shot in Romania, but after visiting Hungary at the beginning of the year, the British producers decided to bring the production here, attracted by locations, staff and incentives”.

Some of the important places in Budapest that doubled up as Parisian locations in the film, include Ferihegy 1 and Airplane Park. In fact, the scene of Mrs. Harris coming out of a Parisian airport had been shot in Airplane Park. Express House (Adria Palota) was similarly 'transformed' when producers built, painted, and put in new window frames to resemble Parisian architecture. Kincsem Park with the dog racing sequence was filmed at night, which easily recreated a 1950’s look. Producers also picked Brody House to shoot an important scene on a beautiful set of staircases. Origo Studios was kitted up to look like the Dior Salon, where the sewing room scenes of the film were filmed. Other locations included NY Café and Operettszinhaz Liszt Ferenc Music Academy.
