If the suspense and riveting plotlines of 'Money Heist' wasn't enough, here's another reason for you to start watching the Spanish crime drama. Brazilian footballer Neymar will be seen as part of the cast of the hit Netflix show as a monk named Joao. In a jaw-dropping revelation on Twitter and Instagram, the sports star wrote: "I was able to realise my dream and be part of my favorite series. And now I can share Joao (his character) with you all! Thank you @lacasadepapel!" In fact, he included the hashtag #nuevofichaje to his post, which means ‘new recruit’ in English.

Dressed in red with a Salvador Dali mask, the 27-year-old posted a video of him featuring in a cameo on the Netflix series 'La Casa de Papel', that has been translated in English as 'Money Heist'. No sooner did he put it out, fans expressed their excitement and wondered how they had missed him in the show.

In a scene featuring the Professor and his brother Berlin, Neymar appeared as a monk. It turns out that the Paris Saint-Germain forward was originally edited out of two episodes of the show in part 3 because of a rape case that had been lodged against him. Once the case was dropped by the Brazilian police last month, the streaming giant re-released the episodes that featured Neymar.

Expressing his joy, as soon as he shared the news, his fans went bonkers. Considered one of the best and most expensive players in the world, his role involves following the gang of robbers and helping them at the Bank of Spain. As the new snippet is revealed, it seems likely that Neymar's character Joao could help the team escape.

The footballer-turned-actor appears in episode six and episode eight on the Netflix series. In a scene, he makes an appearance as a monk and tells Berlin in the abbey: "I don't like football nor to party. At the World Cup, I always pray for our team."

The previous season finale ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, where Nairobi is on the verge of death and the gang gets stuck in the bank with little means to escape. The final moments reveal how Lisbon's execution was actually fake. Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituño) is alive and in custody. Trapped in his own masterplan, the Professor is shaken and is exploring more options for a successful getaway leaving viewers to ponder over the gang's possible escape routes. While fans were speculating Tatiana's hand in the plan, Neymar's character could also be a huge help.

Currently, the fourth part is under production and it is expected to go on floors in late 2019 or early 2020.
