'Money Heist' aka 'La Casa de Papel' part 4: Will Raquel Murillo's Lisbon break the Professor's heart and turn traitor?
The third chapter of 'Money Heist' or 'La Casa de Papel' gets the gang out of their hiding and takes them to the Bank of Spain for another riveting robbery. But, not all goes according to the plan. The series ended on a suspenseful note and hinted at the death of Nairobi (Alba Flores), one of the key members of the team. Moreover, the team gets stuck in the bank with seemingly no scope to escape.
For now, there is much speculation around the plot and if Berlin's girlfriend Tatiana could come and help them flee. If that was not enough, a cloud of suspense surrounds El Professor's (Álvaro Morte) love interest Raquel Murillo (Itziar Ituño) too. Viewers saw her as the inspector of the National Police Corps in season one and two but she later joined the team as Lisbon after her relationship with the Professor is disclosed.
The two even lived together on a remote island in Thailand with Raquel’s mother (Kiti Mánver). However, by the end of the series, she finds her colleague Suarez (Mario de la Rosa) hiding in a farmhouse and he shoots her. In a major shocker, it is revealed that her execution was staged just to make the Professor believe it. However, she does not reveal the location of the Professor. As she heads away in a van with the police, her last words are: “It was the card that Sierra played to destroy us. And that’s how the war began.” After the dramatic ending in the final episode, viewers have been speculating her role in the team and whether she may turn out to be a traitor. "I genuinely think Raquel was a rat and did all this to spy on them," one user wrote on Reddit and another commented: "Not sure if she is a traitor."
Moreover, many fans aren't quite impressed with the pair's relationship. "The Professor hammered into everyone’s heads how they must stick to the plan no matter what, and he has clearly been building his entire life up to this one heist. Because of this it really disappointed me how he fell in love with and risked the entire heist for Raquel. I kept watching the entirety of the two seasons as I thought this relationship maybe was a part of his grand plan and he was manipulating her for some greater purpose, but nope, he just really fell for the lead interrogator of his own heist, risking his own imprisonment, the lives of his pupils, and everything he spent his entire life planning for."
So, will the mastermind Professor turn out to be just another fool who fell in love with the wrong person? Part four of the Spanish crime drama series is expected to roll out towards the end of 2019 or in 2020 and it will be interesting to see which path Raquel takes. Moreover, there are many more unanswered questions: Will Tokyo's impulsive nature doom the Professor's plans again and whether Berlin could come back from the dead?
