Remember the extremely popular musical TV series 'Glee' on Fox? The network is back with a new musical drama called 'Monarch' which features both Hollywood and country music royalty including Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins along with Anna Friel. The series was announced in May 2021, and is created and executive produced by Melissa London Hilfers. Michael Rauch was the original showrunner and one of the executive producers but he was replaced by Jon Feldman in November 2021. Other executive producers are Hend Baghdady, Gail Berman and Jason Owen.

Each of the episodes is rumoured to be an hour-long. Jason Ensler has been tapped to direct and executive produce the two-part pilot. Principal photography for the series began on September 13, 2021, and concluded on March 31 in Atlanta, Georgia. When does 'Monarch' release?

'Monarch' debuts on Fox on Sunday, September 11, with a special presentation following the NFL on Fox Week 1 Doubleheader across all time zones. It will then move to Tuesday nights from September 20 at 9 pm ET.

Although the series was originally scheduled to premiere on January 30, but on January 12, Fox announced that due to Covid-19-related issues and the change in the showunner impacting production, and to allow for reshoots and a more thorough promotional campaign, the premiere had been delayed to fall 2022. Later, on June 6, it was finally scheduled to premiere on September 11.

'Monarch' is going to air on Fox. You can also watch the show on FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV. All new episodes are going to stream the following day on Hulu.

Who's acting in 'Monarch'?

'Monarch' revolves around the Roman family and their legacy. Dottie Cantrell Roman and Albie Roman, played by Sarandon and Adkins, are parents to three children, two of them rival vocalists Anna Friel as Nicolette Roman, and Beth Ditto as Gigi Taylor-Roman. Dottie and Albie’s other son, Luke Roman played by Joshua Sasse, must try to hold the clan together despite his sisters’ egos and need for validation.

The premise is a multigenerational musical drama about the Romans. The family is headed by Dottie and Albie Roman who have created a country music dynasty together. However, the origins of the dynasty are not what they seem to be. Roman's daughter Nicky steps in and does all she can to protect the dynasty's reign in country music while ensuring her own stardom
