Pose’ star MJ Rodriguez has entered the history books with her win at this year’s Golden Globes as she becomes the first Transgender actor to win a Golden Globe. The supremely talented Trans actress won the Best Actress in a Drama Series accolade for her role in the acclaimed FX series.

The star of the show felt elated after winning the accolade and thanked the fans for the wonderful support. Taking it to Instagram, the ‘Pose’ star stated that this win will open doors for many talented artists from the Trans community who want to be a part of the entertainment industry. Rodriguez also wrote about how she “changed the minds” of people with LOVE.

She wrote, “OMG OMGGG!!!! @goldenglobes Wow! You talking about a sickening birthday present! Thank you! This is the door that is going to open the door for many more young talented individuals. They will see that it is more than possible. They will see that a young Black Latina girl from Newark New Jersey who had a dream, to change the minds others would WITH LOVE. LOVE WINS. “

The TV star also noted that members of the LGBTQIA+ community should now break all the barriers and reach the stars. Rodriguez also called all the nominees in the category “queens”.



 

“To my young LGBTQAI babies, WE ARE HERE the door is now open now reach the stars!!!!! @goldenglobes. To the nominees we are Queens. I’m so happy to share space with you! Each and every last one of you women are phenomenal,” she wrote.

Social media erupted when her name was announced from the stage and they congratulated the ‘Pose’ star for this amazing victory. One of the fans wrote, “A beautiful person and super talented! Love this! Stream pose if you haven’t watched it! Life-changing! Life-affirming! Beautiful work and job well done!” Another fan noted, “She killed it in the last and finale season of Pose. Well deserved.” Another user wrote, “This felt like a hug, I’m so proud of her.”



 



 



 

“SO WELL DESERVED!!! It was time. Congrats,” another fan said. “You deserve it, MJ!!! Girl you EARNED it!!!” wrote another one. Meanwhile, one of the fans opined, “She deserved that win. To portray such a difficult time, emotions, and experiences with such delicate accuracy is a huge talent. Remaining true to the character and not sugar coating anything is a gift beyond talent.”



 



 



 

Last year too, Mj Rodriguez made history as the first Trans artist to earn an Emmy nomination in the lead acting categories.
