ATLANTA, GEORGIA: 'Mama June: Family Crisis' star Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson bagged a $21,000 scholarship and geared up for attending her dream nursing university in Denver, Colorado. However, she struggled to make her decision to move out from her hometown leaving behind her beau, Dralin Carswell.

Dralin was on probation at the time as he was attested for DUI. He was also restricted from moving out of Georgia. However, Honey Boo Boo made it clear that she would not move out without her boyfriend. However, Dralin noted that he didn't want to 'hold you back.'

Honey Boo Boo admitted she didn't want to "go by myself" and feared being bored in another state. Dralin admitted in the confessional, "Like, I want to go to Colorado with you but I don't know if I can leave the state." However, Honey Boo Boo appeared to be concerned about her and Dralin's future and questioned, "If you can't figure this out, what's gonna happen with us?"

She added, "Like we can't be together if you in a whole 'nother state. If you don't want to come, just say that." However, WETv show viewers were left furious over Honey Boo Boo jeopardizing her future for her boyfriend. A social media user tweeted, "Alana dragging Dralin into the college drama is a cause for concern!"

Another person added, "I feel very disappointed that Alana would put off going to college for a dude. For Anna, I get it. But Dralin is not doing anything with his life. She really needs to mature." Another critic noted, "Alana you shouldn’t make this situation based off her boyfriend."

Another viewer penned, "Alana better not stay behind for Dralin, if he really loves her he will wait as she grows. I’m worried for her 😭💔." Another internet user penned, "Alana, Girl, you're 17/18 and about to go off to college and start your adult life. He can't leave the state. Look at the equation, then do the math. Handle your business, Honey."

Another X user wrote, "Alana.. u do not need to stick around for that man. Go to college, find a new boo and drive yourself around. Wtf." Another follower suggested, "Alana take your butt to school. You don’t need Draylin to chauffeur you around. That’s what Uber is for."

Honey Boo Boo feared moving to Colorado after Anna Cardwell's cancer diagnosis

Honey Boo Boo was accepted for her dream college just ahead of her sister Anna Cardwell's cancer diagnosis. She reflected on the opportunity and said, "I chose school in Colorado mainly, because it has one of the best nursing programs ever and I also got a $21,000 scholarship."

She noted that her offer of admission seems like 'an opportunity you can't give up.' However, Honey Boo Boo had second thoughts about moving to Colorado leaving her sister Anna during her last days. She admitted in the confessional that she was 'torn in a million pieces' about whether to stay or go after learning of her sister Anna's stage 4 cancer diagnosis.

She added, "This is too much, you know. I just don’t feel like it seems like a good time to leave right now." Anna sadly died in December 2023 at the age of 29 following her cancer battle.

'Mama June: Family Crisis' star Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird was excited for her sister, Honey Boo Boo as she geared up to graduate from high school. Honey Boo Boo donned her cap and gown when Pumpkin told her "I'm super proud" and gave her a pre-graduation gift.

However, Honey Boo Boo was visibly left disappointed after she opened her gift and pulled out a t-shirt with her potential university's branding.
