Honey Boo Boo opts for a college in Colorado

Pumpkin had urged Honey Boo Boo to apply to colleges as she wanted her sister to have a better life than she did. However, Honey Boo Boo was quite nervous that she wouldn’t make the cut and wouldn’t get into the neonatal nursing program she wanted. However, in the season finale of 'Mama June: Family Crisis', Honey Boo Boo had some big news for the family. The reality star has officially been accepted into college. She revealed that the college she'll be attending is in Denver, Colorado. Honey Boo Boo had previously mentioned to Dr Ish privately that the school she really wanted to go to was in Colorado. However, she was nervous that her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, would not stay with her. She was also nervous about her family's response as well as about living so far from them.

Pumpkin and Mama June looks extremely upset

After Honey Boo Boo broke the news about her college admission to Pumpkin and Mama June, she reminded them that she was not going to stay in Georgia forever. Pumpkin was quite upset that her sister is going to be moving so far away but Honey Boo Boo explained that the college has the best nursing program. Pumpkin acknowledged that she was happy for her little sister but she wished the college wasn't "so freakin' far." Mama June was also left stunned by the announcement. However, Pumpkin and Mama June later said the former 'Toddlers in Tiaras' star would have to come home every weekend. Pumpkin admitted that the thought of her sister only coming home for the holidays and going to school so far away broke her heart. The protective older sister and mother quickly decided they would have to move to Colorado to be close to Honey Boo Boo. Furthermore, Alana also announced that she got a $21K scholarship to Regis University and has actively been looking for a real estate agent there.
