'Liar' Mama June slammed for falsely accusing Michael Cardwell of abusing Kaitlyn amid their custody battle
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: WETV star Mama June Shannon has recently accused her late daughter Anna Cardwell's ex-husband Michael Cardwell of abusing. However, social media users claimed that June must have made false allegations against Michael to win 11-year-old granddaughter Kaitlyn's custody.
June has alleged in her petition, "During his marriage to Anna, [Michael] frequently physically abused Anna and the child and it would not be in the child’s best interests to be in Michael’s care and control." Meanwhile, according to the recent documents, the Georgia court has approved June's request for records from the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS).
June now needs to gather evidence crucial to the custody proceedings. June currently has the temporary custody of Kaitlyn. Meanwhile, Michael already has custody of his other daughter, Kylee, whom he shared with Anna. He wanted Kaitlyn's custody as well and claimed that separating the siblings would be detrimental.
However, social media users have called June a 'liar' and noted in a Reddit thread, "Exactly. she's a liar and I hope the court can see through that. I just pray she's not gaslighting Kaitlyn into false memories or something. Another critic said, "If abuse was a concern, why is she only fighting for one grand daughter the youngest doesn't matter ? Why? Because it's not true, or it's unfounded reports."
Another person added, "Smh... what do we expect, June is a liar. This makes me sick! I highly doubt he abused her, considering he loves her like his own daughter, Ughhh, June makes me sick .. and she's a very disgusting human being." Another internet user wrote, 'That woman makes me sick. I don't know Michael but I don't believe for a second that he abused Kaitlyn bc Anna could've said something about it."
Another Reddit user commented, "I don’t know them personally, but knowing June’s history of lying and manipulation it’s hard to take serious. If he was abusive you think they would be trying to protect Kylee as well June only cares about Kaitlyn. It doesn’t add up 🤷🏻♀️."
Michael Cardwell denied abuse allegation
Anna Cardwell's ex-husband Michael Cardwell has denied Mama June's allegation of abuse. Michael claimed through his attorney, Donald Lewis Roberts, "This is the first time that any of these allegations have been made against him. He and Anna had a great relationship when they were married and simply separated due to differences in opinions and personalities."
Michael's attorney further claimed, "They managed to get along throughout the divorce as well and had maintained a good relationship with his family and him. They’ve always stuck together for their children, and we will see what proof Ms Shannon has for these types of claims, these very serious claims, to make on somebody, if she has any proof at all."
Anna Cardwell's daughter Kaitlyn requests to stay with Mama June
Mama June Shannon's granddaughter Kaitlyn has recently submitted a declaration to the court expressing her preference to live with her maternal grandmother. In the statement, Kaitlyn said, "I am electing and hereby expressing my desire and intent to reside primarily with my maternal grandmother, June Shannon."
The statement further continued, "I do not wish to have set visitation with Michael Cardwell." However, the court has yet to respond to Kaitlyn's declaration.
