MCLNTYRE, GEORGIA: Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell is all set to return to the hit reality show 'Mama June: Family Crisis' in Season 6. Anna will be reunited with her sisters Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson, Lauryn 'Pumpkin' Efird, Jessica 'Chubbs' Shannon, and mother June Shannon.
While fans are eagerly waiting for the highly anticipated family drama, Anna recently made headlines after she was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January. The cancer was discovered in her liver, kidney, and lung following a series of tests after Anna complained about experiencing stomach aches. Where is Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell now?
Anna, a mother of two, married Michael Cardwell in 2014 and moved to Alabama. However, the couple parted ways after three years together. After the split, Anna moved back to Georgia with her two children and lives near her sisters. The TLC personality often shares glimpses with her beau, Eldridge Toney, with whom she went Instagram official in April 2019, on social media teasing that she might live with him. However, the last few months have proved hard for Anna as she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The reality star complained of stomach pain just after the start of the new year. Months later, Anna began to lose her hair and the ability to eat and doctors revealed she was suffering from adrenal carcinoma, a type of cancer affecting her liver, kidney, and lungs. Notably, Mama June was at Anna's side as soon she heard about her condition.
Inside animosity between Mama June and Anna
Anna and Mama June's relationship has been strained since 2003 but it got messier two years ago after June, 43, reunited with Mark McDaniel in 2021. Anna, who has previously accused Mark of assault, moved out of her mother's house, moving in with her grandmother instead. Anna previously revealed in an interview that McDaniel would touch her inappropriately when she was 8 years old. When she revealed this to Mama June, she was upset and didn't believe her, Anna further shared. "And I was like, 'Mama, he did that to me and I can't do anything about it. You were never there to see it. You were always at work,'" she recalled. Mark was a registered sex offender and had been arrested for child molestation. Anna briefly reunited with Mama June in 2012 ahead of the premiere of the family's spinoff 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo'. Additionally, Anna attended Mama June's wedding to Justin Stroud.
