'MAFS' Season 14: Chris' mother calls out Alyssa for wanting '15 minutes of fame'

Florine supported her son's choice to get a divorce, while fans slammed Alyssa for lying to her friends

If you've been keeping up with Season 14 of 'Married At First Sight', then you know that the couples are slowly working their way toward what could be a happy marriage or a divorce. But while the couples are still figuring out what they want, Chris and Alyssa have already made their choice.

Despite her claim that she tried, Alyssa never truly gave Chris a chance, seeing that she was never attracted to him. While this was an instant deal-breaker for her, Chris still wanted to see if they could make things work. But after a disastrous honeymoon, Chris made the all-important decision of getting a divorce, just within ten days of being married.

Chris contacted his mother, Florine, to talk about the situation, telling her everything that happened. Florine did not mince words and stated clearly that Alyssa was only there for her '15 minutes of fame' and fans were on the same page as she was.

"Even Chris mom knows Alyssa wanted to be on tv. On the other hand she still trying to get herself to believe that she came on for the right reason #MAFS #MarriedAtFirstSight" tweeted a fan. "#MarriedAtFirstSight #MAFS Alyssa got her 15 minutes. Just not the way I think she wanted it. We all saw your character and it was mean and delusional." added another. "Alyssa took what Chris's friends and family said about him, twisted it, then ran with it. Girl bye. Lying to her own friends and family cause she knows she wrong as hell. As Chris spoke to his mother, Alyssa met with a close friend who wasn't at her wedding. When she talked about the situation, she mentioned that she wasn't attracted to Chris and that things his family said proved to be red flags for her. Her friend reasoned that maybe his family thought they were helping, but it worked the other way. Alyssa told her side of the story, saying that Chris never tried and that he could have spoken to her at any time and resolved things at the resort. However, the editing featured clips of all the times Alyssa was unreasonable and closed off to any effort. She stated that she was ready to move on and wanted to move to Texas but was going to consult her psychic first.

Fans were exasperated when it came to her blatant lying concerning her relationship with Chris. "I can't wait for all of Alyssa's family and friends see what an asshole she really is and how horrible she treated Chris. #MAFS" tweeted a fan. "Wait until Alyssa's friend sees this episode and what Alyssa told her and what really happened with Chris  #mafs" added another. "Alyssa's friends watching the show and seeing how Alyssa lied to her during their conversation regarding Chris's behavior following their wedding #MAFS" noted a fan. 

'Married At First Sight' Season 14 airs on Wednesday at 8p/7c on Lifetime.
