With K-pop idol Lim Jaebeom having several personas like GOT7’s Jay B, R&B artist Def., JB of JJP and more, he has himself jumped on the bandwagon to make fun of himself as he entertained fans in a hilarious interview with Def. for his latest release. While Jay B has always stayed low-key while dabbling in R&B, having signed with his new label he had his first official album release as Def. under Warner Music Korea.

As Def., Jay B has released many iconic R&B songs on SoundCloud, mixtapes and with the indie crew Offshore. But it looks like he is expanding as he officially released his first solo album ‘Love’ as Def. He is the fourth GOT7 member to drop new music in 2022 following Jackson Wang, Bambam and Mark Tuan. And in return Ahgases (GOT7’s fandom) have celebrated by helping Def.’s album ‘Love’ top several charts.

‘Love’ tops iTunes

With ‘Love’ being released on January 26, the album immediately debuted at #1 on iTunes Worldwide and European iTunes charts. He is the second K-pop act following GOT7’s Bambam to top both charts in 2022. Following that, Jay B’s album topped iTunes in 47 countries like Singapore and Brazil and was in the top 10 in 60 countries. Even the title track ‘Sunset With You’ caught much attention as it topped iTunes in 23 countries. And to thank fans, Jay B interviewed Def. and in the most hilarious way.

As a regular radio DJ on KBS’s Station Z, Jay B decided to keep things fun as he split into his Def. persona to talk about his new album. He kept asking the questions as GOT7’s Jay B and then would physically prepare to answer them as his Def. persona which got him trending on social media as fans made memes about the whole interview. One Ahgase made a reaction meme, “Jayb interviewing def on station z like.” Another joked, “He’s tired after splitting himself into JAY B, Def and Jaebeom.”

One Ahgase was worried about new fans, “New ahgases after knowing that Lim Jaebeom from GOT7, JAY B from H1GHR music, JB from JJProject, Jaebeom from Jus2, Def Soul from OFFSHORE, Dj Bbomdi from Station Z and Def from Warner Music are the same person.” Another fan summarized the whole interview as “Jay b: introduce yourself. def: I’m you … but more mysterious.” One Ahgase joked, “Def. was so respectful. he didnt talk while jay b was talking.”

Another posted, “Def., his nervous habit…and an overwhelmed JAY B.” One hilariously added that the two artists didn’t even look the same, “I agree, they both have the twin moles on their eyelid but that’s it.” Another fan claimed she preferred Def. to Jay B, "I’m sorry Jay B but it’s just SOMETHING about Def….."
