Loona's Heejin and D1CE's Jinyoung dating rumors denied, fans find it funny

Loona's fans joke that Heejin must have written the denial statement since it radiates 'pure hatred'

With many K-pop fans being quite obsessive, dating is frowned upon among K-pop idols. Even friendly interactions sometimes escalate with such toxic fans sending hate to the idols involved. We have Korean paparazzi considering it a betting game as they try to find and expose the next idol couple since it gets such explosive reactions. This is why idols try to keep their relationships a secret or agencies put a dating ban on their artists. However, we recently had rumors surfacing that Loona’s Heejin was dating D1CE’s Woo Jinyoung.

On December 28 night, Loona’s Heejin went live on VLive to chat with fans for an hour. While she was showing photos on her iPad, she accidentally swiped to the next photo in her gallery. She immediately tried to hide it but she couldn’t cover the face of a guy with blond hair before fans saw it. He had the same hairdo as D1CE’s Jinyoung in his latest Christmas post. Heejin and Jinyoung had also participated in the same survival show ‘MIXNINE’ in the past.

Heejin accidentally exposes her iPad

In an earlier VLive, another Loona member, Gowon had used Heejin’s iPad. She accidentally revealed the password. Fans concluded that the password might be the birthday of someone who was born on May 31, 1997. Out of the three idols born on that day including Woo Jinyoung, fans connected it to the D1CE member’s since both he and Heejin might have had interactions while they were on ‘MIXNINE’ and subsequently become friends. And so, they thought that the blond guy was Jinyoung and he was dating Heejin.

Immediately the next day, on December 29, Loona’s agency, Blockberry Creative released a statement. They said that Heejin and D1CE’s Woo Jinyoung were not dating and the rumors were groundless since the two were not even “personally acquainted with each other.” They further explained that the blond guy in the video was, in fact, Heejin’s cousin showing his foot. The iPad is meant for all Loona members and it wouldn’t make sense to set the password to that of a member’s boyfriend.

'Debunking rumors with 70% anger'

Heejin’s fans found the whole thing hilarious as they made tweets like, “Debunking rumors with 70% anger HAH they were really pissed.” Another Orbit joked that Loona’s iPad privileges would be taken away, “Loona on their next vlive.” One fan added, “GUYS HEEJIN IS NOT DATING JINYOUNG HER IPAD PASSWORD IS CUPCAKKES BIRTHDAY AND AS YOU KNOW LOONA AND CUPCAKKE ARE GOOD FRIENDS.” They also found it funny that while the label did not react to the news of them allegedly going bankrupt, they immediately responded to the dating rumors, “Reports that BlockBerry Creative are not paying people. BBC: "..." Reports that Heejin might be dating someb-- BBC: “The Lies! The Lies!”" Another wondered if the statement was written by Heejin, “I dont think bbc wrote this statement i think heejin herself did cause this written with pure hatred.”
