BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 21 Top 8 contestants sang Alanis Morissette's classics on the May 7 episode, and there were particular songs that each performed in order to move to the Top 5. However, when it came to Morissette's performance, fans were divided.

Alanis, along with music sensation Ed Sheeran, performed during King Charles' coronation in the United Kingdom, filling in for Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Throughout the episode, Katy and Lionel appeared from Windsor Castle, but Alanis and Ed acted as mentors and judges for the participants. Each finalist sang one of Alanis' songs before teaming up for duets on one of Ed's tracks. However, not everyone was a fan of one of the guest judges' performances.
