'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 3: The Salvatore School and Mystic Falls High tackle football while a monster lurks around looking for werewolves
When 'Legacies' came back for its second season on The CW, viewers were faced with a lot of changes. For one, no one remembers Hope Mikaelson anymore as she escapes Malivore, Josie and Landon are dating and Lizzie is pining for a mystery man. Then there's more as Alaric was kicked out of Salvatore School and is now the principal of Mystic Falls High, Rafael is still a werewolf, and we have been seeing a mysterious red-hooded figure carving out the Malivore symbol and going around killing people.
The question as to who this person is might only be revealed by the mid-season finale, but in the meantime, we have got weekly monsters and teenage angst to deal with. Over the first two episodes of the second season, we also saw that Salvatore School has a new headmaster, Professor Vardemus, who is quite simply a supernatural supremacist. When Josie uses her powers to make another witch's nose bleed for flirting with Landon, Vardemus advises her on using a time-delay spell so she has enough time to get away.
Hope and Landon talk -- and it seems like Hope has not been completely erased with both Alaric and Landon remembering tidbits -- and this overwhelms her enough to come clean to Alaric about who she is, telling him, "you're the closest thing I have to a father".
This could explain why Hope is donning the Mystic Falls High uniform as the Salvatore School and the "muggle" school meet for their annual football game. Josie's jealous side still seems to be flaring as she tells Landon to take down "little Miss Milkshake", meaning he must have told her about his encounter with Hope in the last episode.
The promo shows there is a tackle, but then we cut to the monster of the week who is hunting werewolves. Meanwhile, Lizzie wants to enlist MG's help (poor MG) to learn more about Sebastian who told her to stop looking for him last week and Alaric goes head to head with Professor Vardemus -- this cannot end well.
Our guess is that this monster would be hunting Rafael who is still stuck in wolf form, which forces Landon and Hope to work together to save him and eventually turn him back to his human form. We might also get a confirmation on a looming fan theory that Rafael still remembers Hope.
