Kris Wu fans defend his innocence as Li Yifeng scandal exposes corrupt Chinese police
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: In the wake of the newest controversy in the Chinese Entertainment industry, a new entertainer has been exposed for committing illegal crimes. On September 11, it was reported that Actor Li Yifeng (Evan Li) was arrested and detained by the Chinese police on account of soliciting sex workers/prostitutes illegally. According to the reports, the actor was immediately dropped by popular fashion brands and firms as soon as police reports claimed he had confessed to the crime.
This incident has taken fans back to the 2021 Kris Wu (Wu Yifan) which exposed the former EXO member and Chinese celebrity of sexual misconduct. Now fans claim that Kris Wu is innocent as the Chinese police arrested Li Yifeng over soliciting prostitutes. Last year, Kris Wu was involved in a similar and highly controversial controversy that took over the K-pop and the C-pop industry. The Chinese-Canadian rapper and actor Kris Wu was publicly accused by Du Meizhu, a 19-year-old Chinese girl who released a post on her Weibo account on July 8, 2021. In the said post, Meizhu accused Wu of allegedly raping her and 30 other females (including minors).

Now as a new Chinese celebrity is embroiled in another controversy, Cnetz (Chinese Netizens) have started trolling the actor and calling him an accomplice of his co-actor and friend, Kris Wu. Back in 2015, Wu and Li appeared in the Chinese film, 'Mr Six'. With this outrage against Li, Cnetz is also drawing parallels with Kris' scandal from last year claiming they are "brothers" after all, hence it is common for them to engage in similar activities of sexual misconduct.

I don't understand why the fellow China celebs never learn from other celebs mistakes. Deng Lun & Yuan Bingyan didn't learn from Fan Bingbing case. Li Yifeng didn't learn from Kris Wu Yifan case. I guess it's hard to clean a bad heart if u already build the habits. Humiliation.

li yifeng and Kris wu are two totally different cases, idk why people would compare them. Kris wu raped people. li yifeng (as far as we know at this point in time) paid for consensual sex. in terms of weighing moral behavior, lyf's DUI is worse than his soliciting

As a result of this, fans of Kris Wu have started alleging that the Chinese police are corrupt. A fan stated that Zhang Jixing, a Chaoyang Police officer was exposed by his wife for taking huge bribes, making false cases, involvement with prostitutes as well as domestic abuse. Fans are claiming that the Chaoyang Police arrested Kris Wu on July 31 on suspicion of rape. Wu's fans allege that the police officers lied about Kris Wu in order to frame him and are now doing something similar to Li Yifeng.
I feel so sad for the wife of #corruptedchaoyang police officer Zhang Jixing who still has his job & his wife is in jail for reporting his crimes U celebrities linked with prostitutes goto jail & police is allowed to merry making #CCPChina #freekriswu #JusticeForKrisWu #LiYifeng pic.twitter.com/WClbgNf3R0

'Kris Wu and Li Yifeng being friends'
Fans on one hand are confused about Kris Wu and Li Yifeng's connection on the basis of this scandal whereas others are pointing out how the Chinese police are to blame for the incident. One fan said, "At this point celebrities in china must have a squeaky-clean past because once they get tangled in a scandal, it's really over for their careers. First fan bingbing, zheng shuang, wu yifan and now li yifeng." Another fan said, "Where is Kris Wu? Why is no one able to contact his family (his mother and cousin), and himself. The Chinese police and government have charged Kris Wu without giving any evidence even once. We need to see him alive."
One more fan said, "People accused him without knowing the truth i really hurt and pity for Kris Wu on this. But no matter what happened i'm hos side and still his avid fans & it can never be change it. Hoping consequences of china police government conscience about Kris wu case." One fan said, "How many China celebs are being cancelled in recent years. From Zheng Shuang, Kris Wu Yifan, Vicky Zhao Wei, Deng Lun, Yuan Bingyan, Zhang Zhehan to Li Yifeng. All famous names." One more fan said, "Kris wu and li yifeng being friends..... now this." Another fan said, "Wtf is wrong with this guys first Kris Wu, now Li Yifeng! Ugh."
