It looks like Kim Seon-ho’s abortion scandal affected him severely despite having the general public’s backing. In late 2021, right after his successful K-drama ‘Hometown Cha Cha Cha’ ended, the actor’s ex-girlfriend claimed that Seon-ho had manipulated her, gaslit her, and forced her to get an abortion. Knetizens were quick to drop him and call him names. But soon after, it was revealed that their relationship ended a little differently with her friends exposing her.

Evidence was brought up that showed that the abortion was a mutual decision and that Seon-ho had taken care of the ex despite her cheating on him and spending his money. Fans and non-fans backed the K-drama actor and even celebrated when he went on to win an award at the Asia Artist Awards. The commercials and movie projects that had dropped him signed him back. However, it looks like Kim Seon-ho was quite shaken since he disappeared from the spotlight despite his name being cleared.

Kim Seon-ho apologizes on his birthday

Kim Seon-ho declined to attend the Asia Artist Awards and also dropped out of his next two films ‘2 O’Clock Date’ and ‘Dog Days’. The ‘Start-Up’ actor was also silent on social media with his last Instagram post being right before the scandal in October 2021. Well, on May 8, which also happened to be his birthday, Seon-ho finally came online to thank fans for their support. On Instagram, he wrote a short post thanking fans for the birthday wishes while also apologizing for his “shortcomings.” He then wrote a lengthier post on FanCafe sharing everything that he had gone through in the last 7 months.

Kim Seon-ho wrote, “There were times when my emotions didn't go down. I'm sorry to have made you go through such a hard time because of my shortcomings. I will cherish your feelings and become an actor who can repay your support…It seems summer is already here. Time goes by really fast. I don't know whether its too late to say this but I was very nervous and worried for this moment. Time stopped and each day felt like a month, a year, and there were times when it was hard to keep up…I couldn't feel my emotions."

He added, "I think it wasn't just me, you must've also had a hard time because of me. I'm sorry for being a lacking person that made you go through such a difficult time. You must have scars in the corner of your hearts that are hard to erase…Thanks to you, my time is slowly coming back, I want it to flow quickly but not too quickly. I will try to become a better actor and person by deeply cherishing the precious hearts of those who support me in South Korea and overseas. I promise to make sure not to make you wait too long."

'You're worth the wait'

Fans were happy for his return and made tweets like, “NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND.... SEONHO IS BACK AT BEING ACTIVE ON IG... THIS MEANS SO MUCH TO ME IM GONNA CRY.” Another added, “KIM SEONHO REALLY SAID IM BACK AND KIMSDA POSTED HIS BACK!! Saur true.”

One fan posted, “I know it’s not easy and how devastated it was for you to go through all of the unfortunate events. It was a painful 7 months for you and us. However.. Tough times never last but tough people do. Thank you for being stronger uri namja! You’re worth the wait.”

Even non-fans and Knetizens were supportive and sympathized with him, “I'm sure no one had it harder than him.. but he's still thinking of his fans first, and it breaks my heart to know that. You've been through a lot of emotional suffering... so I hope there's nothing but happiness ahead of you now.”

Another Knetz wrote, “I seriously pity Kim Seon-ho... poor thing. He didn't deserve the hate. I hope he doesn't get self-conscious and is able to regain his footing in the entertainment industry.”

One added, “All because of one crazy b***h, so many innocent people had to be impacted by her actions. It has been a painful seven months but I hope Seon-ho-nim finds strength!!!!!” Another was angry, “She got exposed and tried to counter by suing people. His ex is the definition of trash and thats me putting it as nicely as possible. She tried to destroy his career and completely broke his confidence. Real victims will automatically lose credibility because of people like her.”
