Although Keanu Reeves has found his real-life fairytale with partner Alexandra Grant and Winona Ryder has found her own passionate romance with partner Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011, but this is real news that both the actors believe that they have gotten married whilst filming and shooting of Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ back in 1992.

It is during one specific scene within the film ‘Dracula’, where we see how Keanu and Winona’s characters end up getting hitched. But both these stars have revealed how filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola had indeed used real Romanian priests during this particular scene’s shooting back then.

During an interview with Esquire in last year 2021, 'Matrix' star Keanu Reeves talking about this particular incident said, “We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married under the eyes of God”.

Furthermore, in an old interview with Entertainment Weekly back in 2018, Winona Ryder opening up on her and Keanu Reeve’s reel marriage in film ‘Dracula’ said, “We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis Ford Coppola used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married”.

On this Keanu also added, “It’s lovely to see you again”. In that interview, Winona reminded Keanu about how both of them had went through with entire ceremony and said their ‘I Do’s’ to each other in that scene within the film.

Also in that interview, when Reeves asked her, “We said yes?”. On this Winona responded, “Don’t you remember that? It was on Valentine’s Day”. After this confession from Reeves also had to accept and conclude, “Oh my gosh, we’re married”.

In yet another interview with The Sunday Times, Winona Ryder sharing about how good is her friendship with Reeves and also gave insights into one particular story that showed what a good person the actor is said that, “During a scene in Dracula, Coppola had urged Reeves to hurl abuse at me to make my tears seem more realistic”.

The scene saw Dracula, played by Gary Oldman, transforming into a pile of rats, while a horrified Mina Harker (Ryder) looked on. As the scene was being filmed, Coppola stood behind the camera and started to say loud abuses to Winona so that her reaction to same looks more realistic and believable.

The actress said, “To put it in context, I'm supposed to be crying. Literally, Richard E. Grant, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu... Francis was trying to get all of them to yell things that would make me cry. But Keanu wouldn't, Anthony wouldn't ... It just didn't work. I was, like, really? It kind of did the opposite”.
