Katy Perry attempts to recreate 50 Cent's upside-down move
Barely ten minutes into the season 21 premiere of 'American idol', Katy unleashed her crazy antics upon the show's audience. After Haven Madison's moving performance to her original song, Katy was so awestruck that she decided to hang upside down from the judges' table to show her appreciation. While her fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan helped her with her antics, fans weren't impressed. Fans took to Twitter to call out the judge for trying to steal the limelight from the contestants.
A fan tweeted, "Katy, you're not trying to hang upside down like 50 Cent at the Super Bowl, are you? #AmericanIdol." "Ummm Katy ..... What you doing mama? #AmericanIdol," wondered a fan. "Here we go another season of attention grabbing @katyperry ! Seriously stop with your childish outbursts & let the contestants perform! You are not funny & quite annoying. @LionelRichie & @lukebryan stop egging her on please!!!" complained a fan. Another fan added, "Can I please replace Katy Perry next season? I'm way less annoying. #AmericanIdol."

'American Idol' judge Katy Perry's on-screen shenanigans
If you thought Katy would put an end to her crazy antics after her poor attempt at recreating 50 Cent's Super Bowl move, then you couldn't be more wrong. The 'Roar' singer continued to embarrass herself through the course of the premiere episode by rolling on the floor, and even attempting to do a split! The recently aired episode featured a set of contestants sharing the same names as the judges' trying out their luck on the show. When Luke Bryan's namesake was done with his audition and it was the judges' turn to give their feedback, Katy unleashed an overtly dramatic side by falling onto the floor and declaring that she couldn't deal with yet another Luke on the show. Later, she proceeded to dress up like a Vegas showgirl and put on a small show. During the course of her performance, Katy not only dropped her headgear but also attempted to perform a split, which ended with her falling awkwardly onto the floor. Thankfully for the singer, her fellow judges rushed to her side to help her get back up.
It looks like alongside the talented musicians showcasing their amazing vocals, the audience will also have to put up with Katy's entertaining antics.
'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sunday at 8/7c on ABC.
