'American Idol' Season 21: Meet the Week-1 contestants ready to serenade the judges
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 21 is all set to premiere on February 19. The iconic singing competition is returning with a trio of acclaimed judges, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan. Ryan Seacrest will also return to host the new season.
'American Idol' has introduced several talented singers to the world. Though only one contestant among hundreds took home the coveted title of 'American Idol', several became famous enough to start their own career in music. There were several new faces along with some familiar ones during the 'American Idol' Season 21 auditions. While there's still time left in the premiere of the ABC network show, here are a few details that you must want to check out.

How to watch American Idol Season 21 Episode 1?
'American Idol' Season 21 will air on ABC every Sunday at 8 pm ET starting February 19. You can also stream Episode 1 on Hulu at 3 am ET. New episodes will be available to stream on Hulu the day after they premiere on ABC for free. Meanwhile, you can stream the new episodes on Hulu and YouTube TV at the same time if you have a subscription to the streaming platform.
Meet the Week-1 contestants
Megan Danielle
Megan Danielle belongs to Douglasville and played softball for Douglas County High School. While she is auditioning for the show for the first time, she did appear in other singing competitions. Danielle made it to the semifinals (Top 9) on Season 18 of 'The Voice' in 2020. Moreover, she has also got a place in Team Kelly Clarkson in 2020. She is an aspiring singer who released her first Christian single 'All Around' on February 4, 2022, as a tribute to her father who died in late 2021.
Tyson Venegas
Tyson Venegas is a 17-year-old talented rising singer from Canada. He has won several talent shows and singing competitions since he was seven. Venegas is also a skilled drummer who can sing and play drums simultaneously. Moreover, he also flaunted his piano skills during 'American Idol' Season 21.
Haven Madison
Haven is from Clarksville, Tennessee, and is currently in high school. Madison is a pop singer and songwriter. She is the daughter of Grammy-nominated Christian contemporary group lead singer, Jason Roy.
Katey Parry
Katey loves music and has a Jazz touch in her acoustics. She is currently a musical theatre student studying at the Chicago College of Performing Arts.
L-Rich
Judges were left stunned when they confronted a singer with a name similar to one of them. Lionel Richiee, better known as L-Rich, is from Las Vegas, Nevada. He is known for his punk rock music style.
Luke Uzzell Bryan
Luke Uzzell Bryan is a student currently living in Belmont. He is originally from North Carolina. He loves to play guitar and sing. He has released several songs as of now and the latest one is 'California'.
Michael Williams
Michael Williams is from Ohio and has previously appeared in 'American Idol' Season 20 but didn't make it. He has also made it to the Top 17 on Season 18 of 'The Voice'. After that, Williams has released a couple of songs, including 'Honey, which came out on January 13.
Lucy Love
Lucy Love is a single mother-of-two. The 28-year-old rising singer and songwriter will appear in 'American Idol' for the fourth time. She has been motivated by her desire to inspire her children by winning the singing competition.
Iam Tongi
Iam Tongi is 18 years old and belongs to Hawaii. He writes and sings love songs. However, in the sneak peek of 'American Idol' Season 21, Tongi moved the judges with his story. He said that his father was the one who taught him everything about music.
Colin Stough
Colin was born and brought up in Amory, Mississippi. He recently graduated from high school in 2022. He loves horse riding and country music.
Jack Nicora
Jack Nicora is a 20-year-old singer/songwriter, and pianist from McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He usually performs the '50s and '60s Doo-Wop and early rock and roll. During the 'American Idol' Season 21 auditions, Nicora brought his cute yellow bird to the stage. And in the recently released photos by ABC Network, all three judges can be seen with a yellow bird.
Kya Monee'
Kya Monee' is an R&B artist belonging to Houston, Texas, which has been home to several talented musicians including Beyonce, Megan Thee Stallion and Travis Scott. Monee' graduated in 2022 and this is not the first time she is auditioning for 'American Idol'. Previously, she auditioned for 'Season 19' when she was 19. She went quite far but was eliminated when the judges cut the cast to 24. While she didn't make it to the finals, she did win the judges' hearts. Let's see how far she goes in Season 21.
Lyric Medeiros
Lyric Medeiros hails from Hawaii. She is the daughter of the fanous '80s singer, Glenn Medeiros. She is an actor, singer and law student. Lyric loves to sing with her father.
Zachariah Smith
Zachariah Smith is a singer, proud father and husband. He has often shared sweet moments with his wife, Crysta Marie, and his children. Smith used to perform live music in some local restaurants before auditioning for 'American Idol' Season 21.
